I like the Super Chunk JR more than the original. For any temps really, although I dont use them much anymore. I used them while flipping docks and boathouses. Now I use the Rage menace 80% of the time for this. But yes, they do work well.

Biggest surprise= Academy H20 Square bill's. I broke off my last KVD 1.5 Sunday on a tree and tied on an H20 squarebill I have had for a while that was unused. Flat out tore em up. I was VERY surprised at the "hunting" action this crank has much like the KVD series I'm in love with. Durable paint and a nice rattle. The hooks are so so. But for a few bucks I have no complaints! Biggest disappointment= Not really a disapointment since I sort of expected them to be crap- BPS cranks of any kind. I cant really think of many baits I have been disappointed in because I don't buy all kinds of makes and models. I stick with SK for the most part and am a happy camper.

Spiderman. Alot more durable and functional than you might think. Caught a few 2 lbs bass while fishing for sunnies with my son and it held up great.

I agree with the jig recommendations. I would start with a 1/2 oz jig and craw trailer. You said you have tried worms, what size? 10-12” worms have landed some huge bass throughout history. My go to is a rage tail Thumper. Like previously mentioned, look for any difference in landscape. A lake with little structure can be tough to fish. Good luck!

I love worms more than any bass bait/lure even though I don't fish them as often as I would like to say I do. That being said here are my top 5 plastics not in order. Rage recon worm Rage 10” Thumper Rage menace Rage craw Rage lizard I have many more that I like and use but these are what I have confidence in the most. Colors are simple. GP, black/blue, falcon craw.

For me it just took practice. I used an entire pack of paca craws cause they're cheap. I hold the weedguard next to the hook shank with my left thumb and thread it with my right hand. Hold it next to the hook flush with the head of the jig and see where the hook is going to come through plastic. Once you have that measured just thread it on slowly and be sure to keep the plastic straight. Try YouTube of you learn better visually like I do. Once you get it its second nature. Good luck!

Those are the flip and swims by the way. For northstar swim jigs I use bull gill or new gill but not with as much success as the flip and swims. Its probably more of a confidence thing though. I would never go out without a flip n swim tied on!

Northstar's Kentucky Bluegrass or Bama craw both with a rage tail menace in GP. These 2 are the only sunfish/bluegill imitators I use and have worked like you wouldn't believe. Sometimes I use a craw but 8 times out of 10 its the menace.

Be very careful with Ambien. I and many people I know have first hand BAD experiences when not used properly and also when used properly. If you do end up taking it, the key is to LAY DOWN immediately after you take it. Dont wait to feel the drowziness. The first couple times I took it without laying down I did ridiculous things I did not remember. First time I called my brother and told him not to come over and watch a movie tonight because I had a big test in the morning at school. I was 20 at the time and not in school. He was 1 of the many that I called and told this too. The last incident is what made me find an alternative sleep aid. I took my Ambien at about 11 at night. I can not make this up even though it is going to sound like total BS. I woke up or "came to" at nearly 3 in the morning at the Hilton hotel parking lot accross from Bass Pro in grapevine TX in my boxers only, in my truck with the truck running in park. I have no memory of leaving my moms or driving what so ever. Talk about trippy!!! . I talked to my doctor and thats when he told me you must lay down immediately after taking it that way when the drowziness occurs you will already be in bed with yours eyes closed and most likely fall asleep. It worked fine after that and to my own knowledge I never did anything like that again. I stopped taking it anyways and started taking Unisom sleep gels which worked great and didnt have any side effects for me. I didnt want to take the chance of something happening again while taking Ambien. Basically it scared the S out of me. I think you nailed it though when you said structure. Sleeping is an easy thing to do after you wake up early and work all day. When all you can do is rest all day I doubt your body wants to rest all night as well. Pain killers always woke me up. The narcotics like the Lortabs I took when I broke my ankle gave me an EXTREME euphoric feeling. I had to stop taking them when I started liking it. Addiction runs heavy in my family so I stay away from it all. Except a nice Jack n coke or Shiner Bock. Not being able to sleep is one of the worst feelings. I hope it goes away and you can get some shut eye brutha.

We had a vacant house next to my moms that finally got torn down when I was about 12 leaving an empty grass field. Me and my 2 neighborhood buddies decided to dig trenches and some 1 man, 5 ft deep holes in the ground to hide in.....with our paintball guns. We thought it would be funny to shoot cars as they drove down the street. Since the lot was on an uphill slope, you could not see us or the holes we had dug from the street below. We got ready one evening and waited for the first car. My buddy peaks up out of his trench and lets off 2 shots that nail the car right on the rear passenger window. The driver of the unmarked crown vic was a Fort Worth Detective. He immediately got out and walked right up the trenches we were slumped down in laughing and showed his badge. Luckily he was a nice guy and the only legal punishment we had was filling the holes we had dug. My mom however grounded me for the remainder of the summer with no Nintendo or TV. I have done way worse things but It wouldnt be acceptable for this forum lol.

Glad you went out with a bang and Im sorry to hear about it being the end for a while. Until I joined BR I never realized some people couldnt fish year round LOL. Never thought about it I guess. Lucky for me the water temps dont hit below 60 until about january and are back above 60 by april!

LOL. We think alike.Did you have to send your broken ones to them? I have 2 KVD 1.5's in Chart/ BLK BCK that will not catch water because the bill is crooked. I need to send them an email and see where I need to send them too. I have always loved and used SK almost exclusively. Not because I am brand loyal but because they make quality products that catch me fish day in and day out.

Lipless cranks are killer baits throughout the year if utilized properly. I have a dedicated rod for 1/2 Traps and SK Red Eye Shad that I throw almost every trip. I am most successfull when casting them out, letting sink to desired depth and then a steady retrieve with 2 quick jerks of the rod. Sometimes I get strikes just burning them back to the boat without even a twitch. Like always it depends on what the fish are wanting though. Some people let them touch bottom in 15 FOW and rip it up and let it flutter back down.
