  1. Utterly off this topic but the Obed is one of my favorite places in TN. Great fishing, climbing, camping, kayaking, and hunting.
  2. I was in New Orleans after Katrina and we watched a helicopter put linemen on poles - no idea what they were doing but I had pucker with both feet on the ground
  3. Yeah I have a college buddy that has a Komodo and it’s pretty nifty, it’s just more time and work and money than I want to spend. If I had an outdoor kitchen by the pool (I don’t have a pool either) I’d probably install one in that but for what I cook and how often, my setup is great.
  4. I grill and sometimes smoke on a Weber Spirit. I have had it five years, and have replaced the grates and burners once. It is stored outside, and I use it 3-4 times a week. I use a pizza stone that shares tone in the oven. All super convenient, quick, and easy to clean. When I want to do some full blown smoking, I have a Weber kettle that I use a hot plate, small cast iron skillet, and small wood chips or sawdust in. You’d be amazed at how well stuff comes out of that and it’s wildly easy. I’d buy the Spirit again in a heartbeat- works great, convenient, and aftermarket parts are easy to come by.
  5. @Kayak Fishin the weight will depend on the size of the bead or cone at the head. I fish 6/8/10 on ultralight. You can add split shot above it if need. That actually goes for pretty much any streamer.
  6. Bead head wooly buggers are great on UL. Go big and get it wet before you try casting. Work it like a jig or like a soft plastic jerk bait. I also like the spoons and rapalas mentioned above.
  7. @Biglittle8 Do it! It’s great stuff!
  8. I concur with the above. We drink Counter Culture that’s roasted in Raleigh. They list the roast date on the bag. We also keep Cometeer pods in the freezer for those extra days. They’ll ruin you.
  9. Yes, and I always threw trick worm or small stickbaits/flukes weightless and t-rigged, or Rapalas. Maybe an in-line spinner or two, but mostly the soft plastics
  10. @TnRiver46 that bacteria probably came from me!
  11. Shopping carts are true urban cover. I have caught smallies off them there in Sevierville, in Asheville, and in the Potomac near DC. That stretch of the little pigeon can be a ton of fun when it’s hot. I always caught the near grass beds with some current.
  12. That was mostly tongue-in-cheek…the Browns are actually pretty good. You could also ask yourself how many non-NFL-caliber players are on the Jags…
  13. There’s always a couple SEC teams that I think can beat the Browns or Jags most years. And it’s already the NFL’s minor league. Just 4? Guarantanamo was just good enough for you to get optimistic before he burned it down…

    Come on Irene…
  15. Colonoscopy: underrated and necessary This thread?
  16. Leave it and wrap it. I think getting it off and trying to size a replacement is going to be a challenge. Put it together, with some wax, and then put a good wrap on it. It won’t last forever, but it will for a while.
  17. I made a one-shot launch this morning with no audience, backed it straight down no wobble, no pull up, no straightening, so I thought I’d tell you guys. My 11 yr old thought I was the best driver ever. Boat ramp when we got back a little after one had a much bigger audience but everyone was being super cool. It was like a boat show though.
  18. Brown water snakes., and if they’re doing what it looks like they’re doing, yer pretty safe.
  19. Bourbon, old fashioned, Kentucky mules - probably in that order. Although sometimes the mules were bred in Tennessee
  20. If you need someone to hold the 2018 for you just lmk! You know, just to get it out of your garage
  21. I use some inexpensive clamp on holders on my boat. They’re not perfect but they’re pretty good.
  22. I always encourage people to flip their yak and/or trust fall backwards out of a boat to get an idea of what going in feels like. It’s not jumping into the pool in a swimsuit, and even good swimmers in good conditions tire fast when wearing any amount of clothes. Add wind and/or cold or choppy water and bad gets catastrophic real quick
  23. That looks like running fast into/over a big wave and buckling it. Tough to take a side impact while running
  24. Stonefly nymph, type would depend on where you are, but I would go with a #8 in black.
  25. Even if they’re sucking a ton of water in at the ramp they should last longer than six weeks as long as there’s grease in there. Why are you replacing them? Heat? Squeal? Utter failure? I just think the bearings aren’t your problem here.
