  1. I have caught a lot of big fish this year on the 4.25" Yum Vibra King Tubes! Green Pumpkin will get it done 90% of the time for me. I also weighed my Tournament PB on it back in April 6lbs. 8oz. in a BFL.
  2. Alot of the pros with bigger contracts are actually considered similiarly to employees of that particular company. I believe they get insurance benefits and some even get retirement options ( Like 401K through that company). Mark Davis is now fishing the Elites. He is ranked 13th in the AOY Points.
  3. FLW has a few really good fishermen but BASS has 40-50 really good fishermen that at any given time will take your lunch money. Elites all the way.
  4. Yeah I was going to post similiarly on the Pointer 100 Aurora Black but I got mine for $8.22 I thought I got a monumental deal Oh well, I did buy all they had (4) and it was actually a color I use.
  5. I agree with 5bass that they will more than likely charge to be an observer since there will still be an abundance of people lining up to ride along with these guys for the educational aspect. ( I will be one of those lined up) But I would certainly hope that they will offer a raffle of some sorts for those who pay to ride along. Maybe for a trolling motor, rods, GPS, etc.
  6. "The "grass roots" BASS Ray Scott founded (pretty sad how he has become so non existent lately, shows the type of person he is)" Easy now! I see where you're going with this but lets show some respect to Ray. We all need to remember that if it weren't for him we would not have as much to discuss.
  7. I'm thinking they are going to no co-anglers :'(
  8. I don't have any direct experience but they are designed by the same guy who created Carrot Stix. If you look at them you can kind of tell since the design characteristics are similiar as well (Puls-r Series)
  9. I have used this as well but ran into one major problem (Atleast I thought so when it came to vertical fishing over deep water). With the two weights it causes your bait to twist on the way up and on the way down. But it is a great idea for shallower applications.
  10. The "hook" on the end of your line is about the only way to know it was your knot that I am aware of. Often when you catch a few fish (especially on your lighter lines) the fishes teeth will rough the knot up just enough where it is maybe 4lb strength instead of 8lb. On line diameters- I would focus more so on the line diameter than I would on the pound test rating. For instance 10lb Berkley Big Game has a larger diameter than 10lb Berkley Sensation. Also, not saying that it isn't the sink rate, the smaller the diameter line you use, the more action your baits tend to have because thicker line is more restrictive to your lures. I think a small diameter line, like Berkley Sensation, is the best of both worlds in light cover or open water since you have a higher breaking strength but a smaller diameter.
  11. I have caught a ton of fish (a good amount over 5lbs this year) on a Green Pumpkin Yum 4.25" Vibra King tube. I use it for flipping applications mostly though.
  12. Quick! Hurry! He has possessed your wife. Its a trick! 'Nana Breath is having to resort to devious tricks in this economic downturn! ;D
  13. I have had the same problem with mine. I got mine about 2-3 months ago and have 3 or 4 places where the Carrot has been seperated from the Stik. One is where my wedding band rubs on the exposed blank handle (kind of understandable) and the other ones are where it has brushed against things either in transit of during bumpy boat rides riding with someone else. I love the rod but the durability of the finish was kind of lacking. My theory is that they had such a rush on production that they did not cure long enough or they used a substitute sealer on the blanks.
  14. Is banana breath trying to do his budget for next year? I spend 150-200+ each month. (Jan-April is 250+ easily due to tournaments)
  15. I mainly use Bandits, RC 1.5's, and Zoom Hickeys
  16. This tournament was sort of spur of the moment also.
  17. Don't be offended by not seeming like they want to chat but they are under the strict no info rule and are probably afraid they might get DQ'd also. I know where you can find them tomorrow though ;D
  18. I use my fingernails 99% of the time as well but switching out the larger split rings (Pencil Poppers, Hopkins spoons, etc) that come on baits designed for large game fish it can be a pain. I will be purchasing these shortly.
  19. I agree with the DQ and I would not refund their money. Period. If you refund their money it could cause some people to believe they could cheat and if they get caught it would not cost them anything monetarily. They could see it as atleast a 100% return on their money with the possibility of much much more.
  20. I just have a bad feeling that there will be quiet a few spawners taken with that rig next spring
  21. Gunfish 95 Chart. Shad. Best of both worlds on top. You can walk it like a Sammy or slow it down and pop it like a chugger style bait.
  22. RW- Your advise is greatly appreciated! Thank you.
  23. Trevor- If you are asking about the weight of the Crucials, I would rate them about middle of the road. They are not super light weight like Carrot Sticks but they are not 2x4's either. I really like the balance of them. I have a rod box full of Crucials and feel that, for the money, they are very hard to beat.
  24. I agree RW the only reason the SR705R is not in my future is that I am looking for a rod with a little more length than a 7' to get the added distance on my casts. I am actually thinking about the 7'11" now after talking with some of my deep cranking guru buddies. From everything I have seen and heard, when I am in the market for a 7fter I will definitely take a hard look at the Lamiglas.
  25. I am wanting a cranking rod specifically for slinging DD22's and other large crankbaits. I am looking for a rod longer than 7' to get the extra length on a cast to reach deeper depths. Has anyone had any experience with this rod? I have read a bunch about the 7'ers and it all seems to be possitive and I love everyone of my other Crucials.
