Do You Fish With Your Significant Other?
Do I fish with my significant other? No, I usually use lures, plastics, or live bait!

Cranking Reels
I use the Abu C-3 and like it a lot. Often overlooked because it's not a new design. Bulletproof, great drag, cheap, and just plain works.

Carbonlite 7'mh-F, 6.4:1 Ratio
Everybody will tell you something diff. but I would put PP braid on it and use it for topwater, especially dogwalking type baits. I find the limpness of the braid (as opposed to floro)will give a better side to side motion.I don't use spinning rods much, so for me I could also use it for chatterbaits. Spool it up, believe me you'll use it.

Jig Trailers
I find there are no rules. I fish in quit a few different places. What works in one place very well, won't catch diddly in another. I use this reason to justify why I have so much stuff. For instance the color of cray fish can vary from one place to another. The lake I live on will have reddish/orange crays, another pond they stay greenish/slightly brown. I use blu/blk jigs with everything. Play around with diff. combos, it's half the fun anyway.

Water Rise Affecting Fishing?
As bad as the flooding is in the East, I still feel sorry for the people in Texas. We can always use Chatterbaits and spinnerbaits with big Colorado blades and try our luck. But they don't have water in their lakes, let alone fish.

Water Rise Affecting Fishing?
Come to my house, bring the gen.,sump pump, gas, and chainsaw. ; )

Water Rise Affecting Fishing?
What should you do? Get a generator, sump pump, pump out the basement, try to find a gas station with power so you can get gas for the gen.,and the chainsaw you need to cut up the tree that fell on the house.

Modified Improved Clinch???
Agree with BassThumb on this. I do a lot of flyfishing and an improved clinch is the knot of choice for that reason.(tippet to fly)

Opinions On A Combo
Not saying it's good or bad, but I would look in the classifieds here for awhile. I've seen some quality stuff going for fair prices.

Round Bait Cast Reels Vs. Low Profile
You should try the 4600 series. I have them in C-3,C-4 mag, and C-5 mag. I also use Cabela's round Prodigy reel. I can't say they are better than a Revo, cause I haven't used one for any length of time. Too bad we didn't live in the same area, we could switch off. I haven't any problems with light weights, Zoom trick worms, or say a Rapala s/shad #5. Rod is at least as important when casting, especially light stuff.

Hurricane Hitting South Carolina????
I remember the pic.of your room, looks like the hurricane touched down there If you have to evacuate, take Sarah Palin's poster with you! Seriously, hope it's not as bad as they're predicting, best wishes to all.

Disabled Fisherman
I'm not paranoid, people really are out to get me!

Disabled Fisherman
Try asking at your local bait shop. Your access to a boat should help you find a buddy. May I suggest leaving the 45 at home? Hooks and line are much more effective on fish.

Hurricane Hitting South Carolina????
Sam, you've been on this for a long time. Hope you, BC and everyone else gets through this as best as possible. Heading my way (NW corner of Ct.) talking 15" of rain, high winds. Had a ton of snow in the winter, buckets or rain this spring/summer, a tornado, now a hurricane. UNCLE!!!

Spoons
s only skin hooked, like a t rig
-
Spoons
I can't speak for weeds everywhere But I can pull a JSM through most anything I can pull a T rig. Especially using a trailer as BlueBasser86 and others suggested. Only way to know for sure is to give it a try. Spoons are underused by most, successful for those that do. Best $5 you will spend.

Spoons
Z-Man (chatterbait people)make some good trailers. Either the grubs, or split tails, are pretty tough.

Johnson Silver Minnow is about as weedless as you can get. Will catch just about any kind of fish you're likely to come across.
