  1. I thought they saved that stuff for baby food.
  2. They are fine. Good quality and never had a problem.
  3. Here is another style. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=94137
  4. Harbor Freight has complete kits for $40. I use them and a lot of guys around here use them and no one has had any problems. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=95974
  5. I wonder if the paint could be reacting to the packaging and becoming soft.
  6. I watched it also. It appeared to be a current show and I agree he looked fine and I hope he is.
  7. Thanks! Should I hook the charger to just one battery or should I hook the positive to one battery and the negative to the second battery?
  8. I have a question I'm hoping you can help me with. I have a Cabela's ProSport II 12 amp on-board charger. It is a 2 bank unit. I have one bank wired up to the starting battery and the second bank to the trolling battery as described in the instructions. The trolling motor is 12V. I have a third battery I would like to hook up for use with the trolling motor. How do I wire the 2 batteries together to give me 12 volts for the motor and how do / can I wire in the charger? Thanks Dog
  9. One day I read an on-line statement from a guy who badmouthed a product I owned. I asked him to describe the problems he was having so I would be prepared if I experienced the same problems. It turns out he never owned the item and never used it but heard it was bad from an another person he did not personaly know. Now everytime I see statements like this I wonder how many guys who badmouth a product have actually owned one. I don't think Quantum or any reel company could stay in business selling two and three hundred reels that fall apart.
  10. Cabela's just put the onboard 8 amp charger on sale for $80.00, normally $100.
  11. It sounds like inhumanity to me! I picked one up a Cabela's in Hamburg a few weeks ago. They had a couple of dozen on the counter for $99. It is a nice reel and at less than half the list price it was a good deal.
  12. Gals & Guys Thank you! I'll leave it plugged in because like Ann-Marie I will forget and I do use the boat occasionaly during the winter. Dog
  13. I just purchased a Pro Mariner onboard charger. The directions say I should leave it plugged in all the time and I have a couple of questions about that. Can I just use it to charge up my batteries as needed? Would that damage or hurt the batteries? Has anyone measured how much electricity it would use if it was plugged in all the time? Does the "maintenance cycle" really make the batteries last longer? Thanks Dog
  14. Wow, somebody likes Babe Winkleman! ;D
  15. RM Thanks for the timely advice. I just purchased the same reel and I had some squeeling or noise. I lubed two of the locations you mentioned and it solved the problem. I did not know about the third location until I read your post but I'll get some lub on that that now.
  16. Does anyone have an Arcadia rod or have they heard of them? I just received an ad offering two graphite rods for $49.00 plus shipping. If they are a decent quality then it could be a good deal.
  17. I use MapCreate but I am not happy with it. I fish two different lakes and the map details are very inacurrate. On both it shows land where it is water.
  18. Yes! I wish I got to fish 1/5 the time I read.
  19. I agree with you about that adjustment. It is VERY sensitive....to sensitive. I may try your solution.
  20. I have a 17' War Eagle with a 40HP 4 stroke. Wide open and loaded with two people and gear I do 29 to 31 MPH depending on conditions. I cruise at about 20 to 22 mph at 4000 to 4200RPM. This info is from the GPS.
  21. Twister tails on a lead head jig. Jig it, swim it or troll it.
  22. I'll call and see what they want. I was just told on another site that Garmin want's $120. just to look a a unit but now that you mention it it would be cheaper to buy new than to repair it. Thanks Again
