  1. My best luck comes from a Texas rig. It's usually rare I don't have one rigged up. I'll work it anywhere I would a normal worm. But it's also probably the bait I have the most confidence in. I've also had some success just swimming it back occasionally lifting my rod tip. Hey try doing a search because there are alot of old good posts on the trick worm.
  2. Hey guys you might wanna check your local Sports Authority. I was flipping through the paper this morning and saw that they have 25% off all instock line including Power Pro.
  3. I honestly don't see any glass bass boats without one. Rarely are there actual docks at any of the small lakes I fish so it makes sense. You could always look at it as more protection for your investment. I've also known guys that add them when the buy the boat themselves.
  4. Yeah it has been over $4.00 average for atleast a week here in Chicago. I'd hate to go downtown and see what they want you to pay. By the way ian515 you might want to stay away from Chicago I've been seeing diesel around $4.75-4.85. Anyone else notice that gas seems to jump by $.10 lately. Maybe that's just around me.
  5. My dad has 2 of the Clunn rods. They are both pretty nice. Both are older and last weekend was the first time I used one in a long time. Seemed like a nice rod.
  6. I've read that you can just put it in a plastic bottle and recycle it. So pop, milk, or water. I've read it several times and I think it has been in Bassin' and BASS master as a tip once or twice.
  7. Anyone in SW Michigan especially Allegan and Van Buren counties know where the bass are in their spawn. I heard one or two people say they moved up about 2 weeks ago but that was only on 1 or 2 lakes. Just trying to get some ideas before I head up that way on Thursday. Thanks, bassdocktor
  8. Kevin I'm sure someone will correct me if I am wrong but cavitation results from basically a big air bubble forming around the prop. Scroll down and check out the sections on cavitation. Lets you know whats going on and why it is a problem. http://www.boatfix.com/how/props.html http://www.outboardrepairs.com/cavitation/
  9. If you like the spot light but don't want to set it down or hold it what about this one. I've never used it but you get a mountable spotlight. I'm sure someone on here has used one. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/item-link.jsp_A&_DAV=MainCatcat21412-cat20161&id=0004010520661a&navCount=1&podId=0004010&parentId=cat20161&masterpathid=&navAction=push&catalogCode=XH&rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat20161&hasJS=true
  10. I was recently told as long as it is near the mouth and you are using a moving bait with trebles you should be good.
  11. I spend some time on the lovely urban waterways of Chicago. In fact, one of the rivers has a sign that says "Warning, water not suitable for any human body contact." As sad as it is dead bodies are one of the things that are part of our waterway. Between accidents and what ever else they usually turn up atleast 2 a summer. There have been times when guys have gone to prefish and the ramp was closed so they could take someone out. On the upside, back when the Classic was in Chicago they all had to launch on one of our urban waterways because the weather was too bad to be on the lake. It's also great to be able to catch a fish and be next to a parked barge or look up and see a large factory. Even better is being able to be on the lake and see all of downtown. Yes. I also hear "You fish there?" "why would you fish there?" or "You mean there are actually fish in that thing"
  12. It was awesome for that to happen. I got lucky because the 2 guys I was with helped him when he was here the year before working a booth. So they were supposed to go out with him the last time but it never worked out. That right there might be reason enough to join a club. You never know who your friends may know.
  13. The most amazing part of that video was him remebering to keep part of himself in the boat. I'll second the fact that he is a great guy especially outside of fishing. About 2 years ago he was in Chicago and he went out with myself and 2 other guys for pizza after a fishing show. It was so cool because we got spend 2 or 3 hours with him just talking about whatever.
  14. Those areticles are under the article section at the top. Check this one out to get you started. When you are done reading it there are links to a bunch of others when you get to the end of it. http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/be_a_pro.html
  15. If it has the flush out on the back of the it make sure you use that. That'll get the salt and any sand out.
  16. I have a few friend that will only use that and once in awhile fluro. I use it all the time for flipping. Haven't had a problem with it yet. Either 20 or 25#. This will be probably my 7th or 8th season using it.
  17. This is actually the exact one I have. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_52629_200006002_200000000_200006000_200-6-2 Like I said it just seems to sit too low. But that could be that where it connects is kinda low too. Anything else just let me know.
  18. They sell a pole for alot of boats especially bass boats. I would imagine the Trackers too. 99% sure the pole is an option if you go Triton's website. Since I am at work with nothing to do I'll take a look for the setup we have and will post a link to it as soon as I find it. It was actually a Y shape. Like I said it connected to where the tie downs go. It actually joined in the middle with a float to keep it out of the prop and the you attached your rope to the little tag end the had.
  19. Hey Matt we did this last year with our Triton TR186. My mom wanted to try it and it didn't last long but that's another story. I have very little experience wtih tubing but the setup the guy sold us didn't seem to be the best. It attached to where the tie downs on the trailer go. It had a float on it to keep it from going into the prop. Even if the boat was on plane the rope was in the water. If you could get one of the ski poles they sell I think you'd be so much better off. Basically the person on the tube is at the drivers mercy because they can't move it. I'm pretty strong and with so much rope in the water I could get the tube to move at all. If it were on the cleats that might not be bad. Just try to get it higher than I had it. Any more questions and I'll try to help or ask one of my friends that tubes more regularly.
  20. Not much of a report but I fished from the DNR boat ramp at Brandywine on Saturday and came up with 2 little guys. One about 10 and the other a 12. Both were in the same spot, closer in that normal and on the right side looking out.
  21. Zimmy be careful about going after them. There was a case I remember seeing in either BASS Master or Bass and Walleye Boats where that happened. The guy in the bass boat got a ticket not the kids on the skis. The guy chased them and got a ticket for harassing them. I personally don't mind them if they stay away from me and I'd probably get one if I could. Don't they realize there are laws against coming that close. I know in MI you need a safety certificate to ride one unless you are over a certain age. I think most people who are on them either aren't taking the class or just are paying attention. Usually a cast in their direction with a large crankbait will get them to back off if they see me casting at them.
  22. Not sure how much fishing on Lake Michigan I'll get to do. Average price is Chicago is probably close to $3.95 and the station on the corner is up to $3.99 However, in Michigan this past weekend it was under $3.80 Looks like more closer and smaller lakes.
  23. The other option to giving it some gas is to just slow down more gradually. That'll help too.
  24. That's pretty creepy.
  25. Hey where did you wind up going to get those?
