I've had the BPS crakin stick for 2 years and it has been great. I've got the 7ft MH and it's perfect for throw deep divers. Nice light rod can't complain especially when they go on sale. bassdocktor

The Strike King 6 series isn't too bad either.

I'd check out the KVD video. If he's ever around you go see Jimmy Houston do a seminar. Every time I see him he shows how to flip and pitch. I've also seen him take people to the side afterward and sometime outside and show them personally.

I'd just thought I'd add in about popularity. In Chicago the only stores that have them get like one shipment of them a year and they tend ot stay on the self. When I ask people about them they say yeah "I heard of those" or "I used one once" and the conversation seems to stop. When I'm up in Michigan the employees at several well known fishing stores have no idea that the Ika exists. Just thought I'd back up they aren't often used in the Midwest. bassdocktor

I never saw the HHH thing but I remeber the Sid thing off the top rope and snap. If anyone has watched redently there was the ladder incident with Joey Mercury getting hit in the face. That was pretty bad too.

I'm guessing you mean like wwe? If so I do. Alot of times it's so stupid that it's entertaining. I've pretty much always watched it and went to Wrestle Mania 8 quite awhile ago. Again I know it's stupid but it's still fun to watch with dad on Monday nights.

Hey I was just wondering if anyone else has picked up a copy of Bass Madness by Ken Schultz yet? I just started reading it but, it almost seems like he is kinda against professional bass fishing. I was just wondering if that changes or I'm picking up on something that isn't there. bassdocktor

LBH I have to say the UPS guy is one of my favorite people to see. Usually the only thing he brings me is BPS so he is always welcome. I'll be seeing him tomorrow with my new ATV goggles according to my tracking number even they aren't from BPS. Keep up the good work. bassdocktor

I bought the CD awhile back. He does give some intersting insight to how and why he does things. If nothing else you will learn how he approaches everything.

First thing you need to learn that I don't believe anyone said is that girls are kinda crazy. Since I'm 20 my experience is in your age range. I'm sure you've seen it. I was with a girl who was my best friend and just out of the blue she "needs space" this was after a year. No matter what these things can happen. I got back with the same girl and she broke up with me after like four years again out of the blue and for alot of stupid little reasons, nothing was just serious. Some girls are just like that where all of a sudden you think things are awesome and wham they pull a 180. Best thing you can do while you are mad about this right now is go work out. You'll be amazed at the heavy weight you can suddenly lift. Try it, working out will really shift your focus for the time being even more than fishing. bassdocktor

I'm not sure if KVD has a new book coming out. However, He does have 2 books out currently KVD "Bass Strategies" Book and KVD "Secrets of a Champion" Book. I both are preety good aswell. They have some stuff in them that is worth reading. bassdocktor

Sowbelly is definitely worth a read. Ike's book is worth checking out too. If nothing else it's interesting and a pretty easy read. The other good book no one seems to mention much is Bass Master Shaw Grigsby : Notes on Fishing and Life. The one I'd like to check out still is Bass Madness: Bigmouths, Big Money, and Big Dreams at the Bassmaster Classic by Ken Schultz. Let me know if you ever get to that one and how it turns out. bassdocktor

Safety is something alot of people do tend to forget with everything. The little things like the face shield can definitely make a huge difference.

Thanks, I guess I really should have said I wasn't considering anything else. I've noticed that's what they where when I've seen them race on TV so it seems like it would logically be the choice.

I've done that a few times. Swimming the fat albert grub and I never knew what was gonna be at the end of my line.

fluke first off thank you for the concern. I've read quite a few of the stories that your are talking about. Although slightly different I do know a girl would almost was killed by brain injuries on a snow mobile. I've also been checking out different helmets and some other gear in between studying for finals. If you or anyone else has a recommendation on what to get or not get when buying a helmet please let me know aswell (brands, etc.). Again thanks, bassdocktor

That's interesting that his becomes useless. Obviously I don't know the conditions they were referring in reviews I just found but alot of people didn't have a problem with it getting stuck. They also may have be referring to mud. Thanks for your response and I kinda figured that I might hear that it would be getting stuck. I may have to rethink the Recon since planned on using it in the snow. Thanks, bassdocktor
