  1. i just got my shipment of chatterbaits in, and i was wondring if anyone throws them with trailer hooks. i was thinking about trying it and was thinking what everyone else would think. let me know if its a good idea or a bad idea
  2. i used to HATE chatterbaits. i had 4 and lost all of them before catching a fish. i told myslef i would never buy one again. i had a tournament this weekend at a pretty big bass lake and was throwing cranks, spinnerbaits, and jigs. while i was thorwing a spinnerbait in the underwater trees, my baoter was throwing a chatterbait with a different trailer and on his first 2 cast caught 2 keepers. he offered me a try so i took it and caught 2 keepers on it within 5 casts! i am a firm beleiever now and will probably throw them more than spinnerbaits. i think they are awesome
  3. try the ms slammer. its pretty big but it catches pigs. bigger baits bigger fish is my theory
  4. i love horny toads, but i was fishing this last week and the horny toad wasn't producing fish. it was a perfect place for a frog so i tied on a stanley ribbit and it was smacking fish all day. i am going to always be using the stanley ribbits now
  5. i was wondering what the difference is between a parabolic rod and a medium heavy rod. i bought a carrot stix today and the guy siad to get the parabolic one, but i have no idea what that is. thanks for any info
  6. i got a metallic finish and a natural matte one. i would highly recommend the natural matte over the metallic finish. it looks a lot more realistic. the matallic one looks like it will be very flashy and thats good, but i would suggest the matte color unless you are fishing DIRTY water. i'll use the matte one a lot more than the other one
  7. i know shimano makes great reels and everyone likes them. but i got a pflueger president spinning reel last year and it was awesome. since then i have a gotten another pflueger spinning reel, 2 pflueger baitcasters, and 1 shimano citica. get the president!!!! its my favorite baitcaster out of the 3 i have and it was the cheapest. it is very easy to cast and very easy to use. i love it and its probably the only baitcaster i will buy for a while PFLUEGER REELS ARE THE BEST
  8. swimbaits, jerkbaits, big topwater, and big plastics
  9. i've got a green one i caught a pretty big smallmouth on a few years ago. and hooked into a good one last year, but haven't really used it since
  10. here in utah, the lakes i fish are very clear. i am getting a perch colored crankbait but can't decide between a flashy matalic color or a natural matte color. in clear water, do you want flashy lures or non flasy (matte) ones? i know flashy colors work better in muddy water, but are they good in clear water, or is matte the better choice? would a flashy bait attract fish from farther away in clear water? i'm just confused.... so i guess the $1,000,000 dollar question is what lure color for clear water? a fast response will help because i need to make my order before everything else gets shipped. thanks!
  11. i just ordered the matallic perch, i do'nt know if i want a matte one or a matallic one though. i can't decide!!!!
  12. it wouldn't let me post the website. but i got mine from another site
  13. thanks, i think the size weights i have are 3/16th but i'll get some 1/8
  14. i want to start using lizards more often this season and i've usually been carolina rigging them. i want to try them texas rigged so i was just wondering how everyone else rigs thier lizards
  15. i couldn't find them anywhere online. does anyone know how much the price is?
  16. i don't have lucky lures, but i have lures i do'nt want to lose! any lure over 5$ is worth swimming for depending on the length and depth. but i would be ticked if i lost a lucky craft, jackall, or ms slammer. i would swim miles for those. they aren't lucky, they just catch fish and cost a lot
  17. i peg my t-rigs, but i use a bead with my carolina rigs
  18. MATCH THE HATCH, meaning choose the same color of the prey the fish eats. thats why you see a lot of california guys thrown rainbow trout colored swimbaits. the bass eat rainbow trout. so just match what the fish are eating
  19. i like terminator but the durability on the colors isn't very good. booyah makes good spinnerbaits too. just make sure they do'nt roll on one side. i just started fishing them and love em already
  20. i was going to order some normans from tackle warehosue but didn't know what ones to get. the lucky craft i got was in lavender shad color. i'm going to fish it on deep drop offs and i want to bounce it off of the structure. i used to do that with good results but lost the bait.
  21. i just got a lucky craft flat CBDR and i really like the look of it. i haven't used deep crankbaits that much and i heard this one isn't very good around cover. i want to get a floating deep running crankbait that i can pitch into cover like trees and down logs. what are the best ones for this situation? thanks
  22. it depends on the depth and structure for me. if its a football jig, i like to drag it along the bottom. i like the football jigs in rocks or gravel too. if i'm using a finesse jig, i like throwing it around brush, trees, or cover like that. i like hoping finesse jigs though over the structure. try both ways and see what you like
  23. i have thrown a couple different kinds but my favorite is from a local tackle shop.
  24. i like plastics, jerkbaits, and topwater. those are what i use the most.
  25. i need to get a camera for this upcoming year and i'm wondering what ones are the best. i don't want to spend more than 250. i would like one for under 200 if i could get a good one. i'm just wondering what the best camera is at a reasonable price
