  1. I have a marine battery charger with the alligator clips. When i charge my trolling and cranking battery i have been unhooking them and taking them out of the boat to chargeone at a time. All the electronics are hooked up to cranking battery. Do i need to unhook the batteries and take them out of boat when i charge them. Or can i just hook alligator clips up to them as is and charge. It is a pain to take them in and out so if it is not necessary to do so i would rather not until i get an onboard charger. I am mainly worried of damaging anything hooked up to batteries when charging. Any input would help. Thanks
  2. So i have 2 depthfinders i have a humminbird 698hdsi infront of boat with transducer on TM. At steering wheel i have stock Lowrance elite 3x. I wanted to upgrade the lowrance. If i dont get a side imaging depthfinder do i have to replace transducer also? I was thinking of just getting a 5" depthfinder. Will humminbird work on lowrance transducer?
  3. There isnt room for another battery in compartment. There is a big storage compartment right infront of it where i was thinking of putting onboard battery charger in and running wires to battery storage so if i did upgrade id have to put extra battery in there. I do know how to wire batteries together. Would i have to run any extra wires to TM plug in front or change the plug?
  4. Ive got the bps ratchet canvas cover its about 400 but is well worth it and is heavy duty and has held up well. There like anything if u want quality u gotta pay for it
  5. Heres a pic of the inside of my boat. If it wast 10 degrees out id pull the cover off and get a better pic.
  6. It doesnt get too hot in the summer does heat up a little but not much just get better grip in summer. The best thing about it is you can just get the hose out and spray it off to clean it off. I love it.
  7. Thanks all. I will probally take advantage of the safety check and see how people are doing it there. Ill have to try and see whats best for me now atleast i got an idea where to start. Thanks
  8. Yea ill have to check. Im pretty sure you cant tho its a drinking water reserve.
  9. So i bought a new Tracker pro 170 late last year. Theres a real nice lake near my house thats electric motor only. I never got to take it on it last year for a couple reasons. I was wondering how you get the boat on and off trailer with out using gas motor? With my old jon boat i would use a heavy dock line and pull it close and then winch it. Is that the best method? Also i have a 45lb minn kota 12v trolling motor and i wasnt sure how long the battery would last with only using the trolling motor to get me every where. The lake is about 500 acres but has lots of big bass in it so i def want to get on it this year. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  10. I bought a pro 170 from bass pro last year and they gave me a free carpet upgrade. Its like a vinyl marine carpet which i love cuz u can just spray it off if something spills and i actually seem to get better grip on it.
  11. I got a brand new Tracker pro170 last year and i love it. Remember youll have taxes tags and all that good stuff also and if from dealer dealer prep and freight fees. Mine all said and done was like 12,500 and the list price was 10,500.
  12. The Revo S is a great reel for the money. I have had issues with bass pro reels in past. I have never tried a PQ tho. I own several ABU reels and you cant go wrong with a revo
  13. St. Croix still has terrific service never had any problem with them at all.....This is shocking to hear that about loomis tho... Looks like im getting another st croix this year instead of a loomis
  14. My dad got this letter today about Acadia Sports fishing rod. The letter gives details of the rods and offers a lifetime warranty on any breakage due to defects. There is a 6 month full refund return policy. They are offering buy one get one free. (No matter how many rods you buy) They are 64.99 for one rod. So with the free rod, $33 for each rod. Has anybody ever heard of this company, used these rods, or has any info at all? Sounds like a good deal even if its not a G Loomis quality rod. Almost too good to be true. http://www.acadiasports.com/home.asp?ru=0&ss=1280
  15. Nature will take its course. Another animal of some kind will eat it.
  16. Hell I know the tree your talking about....as your riding toward the bridge it is almost right infront of the first bridge pilling. Theres also something on the same side on the other side of the bridge that holds some fish. Couldnt make out what it is on my depth finder. (might just be a weird hump. My deep fishing got a little better this year but i still struggle. Black Hills seems to be one of the harder places in the area to catch the bass. So I am also excited about the fall. I went Wednesday. The day of the horrible wind of course. It was a bad idea. I got one keeper in a creek channel. But none shallow at all. The main lake was low 70s surface temp and going down the branch by the fishing pier. The lake started getting toward mid 60s the further i went back.
  17. I ended up purchasing the E5 since most of my other reels are 6.4:1 so i figured it be better to get a slower reel as i can always use the others if i please. Thanks for all the input
  18. So im going to buy a curado to put on my gloomis cbr 784. Ive always used gear ratios in the 5's. What do you all suggest i should get the E5 or E7. I am going to be using it for lipless cranks and topwaters also. I cant decide if i want the slower reel or the faster one as i can always slow down but its harder to speed up if i wanted to. What do you all use and suggest?
  19. welcome to the boards If this is for plastics i would go with the extra fast over the fast. mainly for hooksets
  20. or save up $50 more and get the Legend Tournament cranker. Thats what im planning on getting. Have the teaser and its a terrrific rod and you cant beat the warranty.
  21. I have a teaser and its a awesome rod...So awesome im going to buy another LT maybe two eventually lol. Id like to try their crankbait rod. LTB all the way you wont regret paying the extra money.
  22. This is true, but unfortunately i just snapped my powell....on a hookset actually. Using the warranty is not the easiest. You have to prove your the original owner and its not near the ease as St. Croix that is my only con i have found with the powell rods....and the break on a hookset...but still a great rod for the money
  23. LOL. More people probably own the STX seeing that it's already a couple of years older than the E7. Are you kidding me? 75% of the people on this board own curados. This is why I wont ask these questions on the board anymore. Some people will give honest responses but lots just bash the other brand they dont have or dont like. They are both well made reels. I honestly prefer my STX over my curado for almost every application. But thats me. It can cast weightless baits fine and i still dont understand what people are talking about with the brakes and all these backlashes. I dont know maybe they dont think they need to control the spool with their thumb on a baitcaster. You will not be upset with either reel choose which ever you like best dont get caught up in the pole or all the bashing comments. (half of them probally never even fished both reels) They will both get the job done fine. If it were me I would chose the stx mainly because of the price. But its you so choose which ever you feel is the reel for you because your opinion is the only one that matters. WE ALL KNOW THEY ARE BOTH GREAT REELS.
  24. I agree with the above. I learned on my own so it was a little difficult at first. Last week i went out with my buddy and his little brother and we were teaching him to baitcast and he didnt get one backlash at all. With someone there teaching you it will be a lot easier. If its a high quality baitcaster the brakes and cast control should help enough to avoid backlashes. Casting far is when they start to come into affect. Teach her shell appreciate it when she masters it.... We all do!!!
  25. You can change your rod it will help you land the bigger fish. My nephew loves the game.
