  1. I dont believe in it but i heard jimmy houston say it on the Scott Martin Challenge once. There was also something to go with north and south but i cant remember what it was.
  2. I would say G loomis but thats not Mid price point so id say the AVIDS. I personally like the split grips. I think they make the rod lighter and feels more comfortable when i am reeling. I can see what you mean about casting with them. But man they are sexy. I still cant believe Loomis hasnt come out with one yet. You know they would sell tons of them if they did.
  3. I know right lol i didnt want too say much more than that. The posse gets offended really easily. Especially when you say a reel can cast weightless lures as easy if not better then a shemano.
  4. The reason you can cast weightless better with the Curado is because the SX doesnt have the infini spool that the STX has. (The new ones have it) The SX is not great at weightless baits. Best for Lures 3/8 oz and up. The STX on the other hand. With the Infini spool (pretty much free floating) I can cast a weightless worm a mile with no problem at all. I have a curado and i actually use my STX for casting weightless T Rigs and light cranks. The New SX should be much better casting than the older ones.
  5. How are they ugly as sin? The only one i thought didnt look good was the orra SX. All the revos dont look that much different. The STX still looks good as hell
  6. I have 2 STX's. By far my favorite reel. (I will be buying another when the new ones come out and probably an SX also) I have one that I switch between a Powell Max and Kistler Magnesium. The other i have on my new St. Croix Legend Tournament. This is my fav setup thus far. Whatever Rod you choose, Im sure it will be a great set up because you just purchased a Dang Good reel
  7. 7 ft Kistler Magnesium MH/f / Powell Max MH/EF...Revo STX. I use an 18 inch leader on 12# yo zuri Hybrid. My favorite bait lately has been a Strike King Rage Tail Shad
  8. You cannot compare a Legend tournament to a Kistler Magnesium! That is not a level playing field! Put the LT against something like a Helium and than it is a whole new story!!!
  9. Kistler rods are nice, and sensitive. Dont know if id go as far as saying st. croix dont compare. I feel that my new legend tournament is more sensitive then my magnesium. Great rod either way. The only downfall i dont like about the brand is they put a USA flag on them when they are not made in the USA. They build them overseas. But that doesnt mean there not as good quality. I just cant stand stuff that has USA on it when its not made in the USA/
  10. You use a stiff worm rod for cranks? Thats the total opposite of a crankbait rod.
  11. The Avid is a much better rod in my opinion. I was never really impressed with the crucial. The cumara is more of a comparison to the avid i feel. Except in the price range. Cant go wrong with St. Croix. Made in USA best service out of any company i have ever dealt with. And no questions asked when it comes to their warranty. St. Croix is one of the best rod manufacturers and they take much pride in their work.
  12. Well i ordered the Teaser, Should arrive saturday....hopefully
  13. The teaser is the rod i am planning on buying. The only problem is i made the mistake of getting a gift card and of course bps didnt have the rod so im going to have to get it shipped to the store because im not paying there ridiculous shipping charges. Not when i know i could get free shipping with tackle warehouse.
  14. So i purchased a carrot stick and ended up returning it because of the new info released. I am now debating whether to get 2 mojos or one LT. What do you all think?
  15. I just bought one last week and that alone is why i am taking it back
  16. May not be a giant? The mans from conneticut that's a trophy
  17. So long ago i have no clue....im sure it was some kind of plastic worm with a spincast set up
  18. I have a powell max and just bought a carrot stick. They are both excellent rods. I have only fished the carrot twice now, but man i love the way that rod feels and the sensitivity of it. It now has me comtemplating selling/trading my powell for another carrot.
  19. A lot of people are going to slow down and go smaller. When this has happend to me lately ive been doing the opposite with some success. Ripping Lipless crankbaits and spinnerbaits. Last week couldnt get bit on anything. Was fishing a dropoff at about 30 feet of water. Jig nothing, worm nothing....I ended up just giving it a shot and tied on a 1/2 oz redeye shad and let ir shimmy to the bottom and just started ripping it up and down off the bottom. Ended up leaving catching three keepers when i probally shouldve been skunked. Just dont think slowing down is always the answer.
  20. So im going to save a little money and buy a carrot stix. Just cant decide which one i have. Thinking of a medium power since i already have a MH rod.
  21. Anyone tried the Gold Carrot Sticks
  22. I have a powell ef 703c. Its a medium heavy rod. I am trying to beable to cover a variety of applications with these two rods. Should i use that as my plastics set up and look for a different type of rod?
  23. A big thing im looking for in the rod is sensitivity. Deep Water fishing/ main plastic stick. So sensitivity is really what im looking for. I really dont want to spend more then $200. I am really leaning towards the loomis but the sleek design of the new rods is whats keeping me from buying it.
