  1. It will vary depending on the water. If there is lots of forage it could only be a couple years if its overpopulated with bass and not much forage a bass may never reach ten lbs. It would also depend on the largemouth strain. Florida or North American Bass
  2. I agree with booneangler with the fall lures. This is the time of the year i rarely even use a soft plastic. Fast moving lures that make noise and vibrations are the ones to use.
  3. Crankbaits are one of my favorite lures and one of my most productive especially in the fall and spring. If you are not catching them this fall when the bass come back to the shallows. Get yourself a shallow running crank, go out early in the morning and cast parallel to the shore and just cast and reel slow. You should definetely catch fish if you do this and hopefully gain some confidence in a great lure and want to learn all the other techniques to crankin
  4. I stocked up on some new spinnerbaits for fall and got some of these. Man these things are sweet. They are the size of a 1/4 oz spinnerbait with the weight of 3/8 oz. I fished a pond the yesterday and i always catch em on a 1/4 oz spinnerbait. I used this HD one and the longer cast it gives me made it my most productive day there ive ever had. I caught 18 LMB in two hours. 4 of them were over 3 lbs, the biggest weighing 4lb 3oz. My buddy also caught 13 and probally would of caught more if he switched to the HD before i already had 5 fish. These may be my go to lure this fall.
  5. Most productive would be a senko Favorite to fish shallow cranks or spinnerbait
  6. Norman Fatboy Manns Minus 1 series Bomber B Balsa In the fall is my favorite time to use these baits. Most are very good preventing hang ups but youll still lose some. But "If your not loosing lures your not fishing where the bass are"
  7. You definately can go bigger. The forage is bigger then it was at the beggining of the summer and last week even. All bluegills, shad etc. are well grown by now. Bass also tend to have bigger strike zones and can see a bigger bait from farther away.
  8. Nice Fish!!! What you use as your plastic on you rig. Ive been having good luck drop shotting deep in the hot summer although its my least favorite technique it works
  9. Nice!!!! It sucks almost all our lakes here in md are Electric only
  10. I dont mix them because i read somewhere that you are not suppose to. The chemicals from the two different types can mix and ruin your plastics. But thats just what i read if its working for you keep on doin it
  11. ADC maps are the way to go. They show just about all bodies of water and distinguish park property from everything else. Any body of water in the green land is park and you can fish. Others may be private ponds but it shows almost all bodies of water.
  12. couldnt of said it better. They both are for different circumstances and applications
  13. I havent got to liberty this year but last year all the success i had there was fishing deep. We were catching bass suspended over 50 feet of water. That is probally why they are hard to catch. We had most of our luck on deep diving cranks over 30 to 50 feet deep.
  14. Welcome aboard!!!
  15. Chatterbait is my weapon of choice in really muddy water. I fish a farm pond and when it rains it turns brown from all the run off. Chatterbaits and topwaters that make a lot of vibration and noise
  16. I love catching smallies and catch a ton of em a day. I prefer going after lmb i guess its the size. I love catching both tho
  17. Im purchasing a baitcasting swimbait setup this winter as now i fish them with a spinning set up. Im going to get the new curado 300 for my reel. Mainly because shimanos are great reels and i want a low profile.
  18. The colors are awesome!!! Bluegill colors are my fav so im getting that over the spro for that reason alone
  19. Nice fish looked like a perfect day to do some fishing
  20. Im not positive but i think they can find their way back. I read that the adults usually spawn in the same areas so they can find their way back to that spot every year. Again im not sure but bass constantly will hide in the deeps and feed in the shallows and return back to the same spot. I guess it would depend how far you are talking
  21. Since when are salty trick worms a secret. A secret would be carolina rigging a crankbait like i did all summer and tore them up at 35 feet deep on a dd 22. Well even that aint a secret but not many use it and i prefer it over a carolina rigged plastic now. I love crankbaits and i think fall is the best time to throw crankbaits bass are going after baitfish as always and heavily. Shallow runners work in about the same spots as spinnerbaits and this time of year most are throwing spinnerbaits. So i would have to pick a crank or maybe a swimbait, if LBH convinces me ;D
  22. Rig it just like a texas rig with the hook coming out the back and fish it so it stays on top of the water like a buzzbait. It will cause a lot of comotion and the bass will hit it hard.
