New Pet!!!!!!!
BUT YOU MUST GIVE THE BASS WHAT IT NEEDS if you do there is nothing wrong with it and according to a bassmaster article i read it said a bass more then 5 lbs needs atleast 5 foot of depth so as the fish grows you need have an adequite tank for it and it might have to be a big one.

New Pet!!!!!!!
As long as you provide it with what it needs i see no problem with it. If you put it in a bigger tank and feed it well that bass will be doing better then it could in the wild. The bass has no sharp hooks jamming it in the jaw so its better off if you ask me. Who knows how many bass die from our hooks damaging them and causing them stress. I THINK IT IS IGNORANT to say that the bass is not well and is better off in its natural habitat when we trick the same fish into biting a FAKE minnow that has a hook that is going to be thrusted into the fish and then reeled threw water and taken out of its natural habitat. Some eat them and never put them back. Atleast hes giving the bass a chance to live and not throwing it on the grill. If you think the pet bass is WRONG then maybe you should rethink Bass fishing. It is a violent sport sometimes you hook them in the eyes is that good for them? Is a hook jammed threw its body good? Fishing is not good fish period in no way whatsoever. By catching them YOU ARE NOT DOING ANYTHING GOOD FOR THEM.

Have you ever known you were going to catch a nice fish on the next cast?
yea ive done that a couple times mostly im just joking around and then actually catch one(usually in ponds). But in lakes when im casting to submerged trees i either say "thats either a fish or im losing this lure" and one or the other usually happens haha

fall bass fishing
I dont know about down there but last year i threw a lot of shallow cranks and they worked mirracles for me. The lakes i fish got hit with spinnerbaits hard so i thought to myself if everyones throwing a spinnerbait what can i do different then them, so i threw shallow cranks. You can fish them almost anywhere you fish spinnerbaits. I had the best fishing in the fall using this technique then i did all last year. This year im going to throw swimbaits in with my shallow cranks.

AR David Fritts canking rod
i have a bps cranking stick that is rated for 1/4 to 5/8 oz. it throws a the small shallowers easy as can be. They also have one that is rated 1/16 to 1/2. They are only $60. If your just looking for a cranking rod these are good for the price.

Swimbait Rod and Reel?
I probally will use the 8" trout next year when they stock the rainbow trout up here. I guess i could be missing out on a fish of a lifetime by not using them huh I prefer baitcasting over spinning by far when it comes to heavier lures. I think im going to just finish this year off with this rig and think about it more in the winter and possibly buy maybe a telescopic flipping stick or the new st.croix MOJO swimbait rod since that can be in my budget at only 120 i think. Im still not sure about spending 250 on that shimano tho im hoping maybe the older curados go a little cheaper in the winter. Right now the new one is only 50 more.

Swimbait Rod and Reel?
So I am trying to get into swimbaits. I was planning on buying a new curado 300 for the reel and get a new rod also in the winter. I was thinking about how much money that is going to cost and just dont think i can afford it. I live in the northeast (Maryland to be exact) and probally wont throw anything bigger then the mattlures bluegill. Probally none of the big 4 ouncers. I can throw the smaller ones on my other baicast rigs and was just wondering if there are any disadvantages if i just used my spinning set up i use for catfish. Its a 2 piece rod and can handle the lure weight and line etc. I also fish from a 12' jon so a big one piece rod that i wont always be using just in certain situations will get in the way. Would the spinning set up be fine or are baitcasters perferred with Swimbaits?

Minn Kota Maxumm VS Endura
So i am going to get the maxxum. The next thing is my minn kota i have now is old and the battery is not lasting nearly as long thats why im getting a new one. That one is a 36# and i am debating wheter i should go to like a 50# of 40 something.
-
LH vs RH...why?
Im a righty and reeling with my right just feels more comfortable to me. I switch all my spinning reels to the right hand retrieve even before i started baitcasting

Please help me be ready to catch a big bass
x3 on checking your line. Also when reeling them in try to keep your rod tip low trying to keep the fish from jumping and throwing your bait.

Algae covered ponds
Hollow bodied frogs are the way to go or you can try my little trick assuming there is no vegitation under the algae. Toss a lure out to catch some algae (i prefer a jitterbug because it wont sink and will definetly catch some algae) and pull the lure to make a hole and toss a wacky rigged worm in the hole and twitch her around the bass will come to it

What rod and reel did you catch your PB with?
