Revo STX help
So i took my Revo stx apart today to oil it and put it back together the way i thought i took it apart. Unfortunately now it is not working correctly. The thumbar is not engaging it is always disengaged and when i crank the handle the spool will not turn but when the spool is out i can see the thing spinning inside. If anyone could offer any help or know of any detailed pictures other then the crappy schimatic i would really appreciate it. Id like to try and fix it before i send my lovely reel in the mail.

P LINE or line suggestions
Im definetly gettin some kvd line and lure. All i hear is good stuff. Im going to try the suffix elite. Im also thinking of paying a little more and getting Trilene 100% flouro. Man i hate making Tackle decisions lol

I really get irritated
I can actually cast weightless senkos further with my STX then with my spinning outfit. I prefer BC over spinning but always have both. Unless the lure is super light or theres a strong wind i use a bc. I think the biggest difference in the reels is when your fishing topwater. I dont know what it is but i cant stand fishing topwater with a spinning outfit. especially buzzbaits

Do you palm it?
Always palm with my pointer finger sitting under the line for more sensitivity

What are your deciding factors in choosing rod length?
The deciding factor for me is if I can fit it in my car ;D

Line Conditioner.
How do you treat reels that are already spooled up? Do you just spray it on the line on the reel?

P LINE or line suggestions
I have been using the Pline evolution copolymer. I hate it. This stuff has so much memory when i let my lure sit on the ground the line is so twisted it looks like a cork screw. Many people use the cxx.(the green box) and i am wondering if this is anything like the evolution which in my opinion sucks. I hate memory in line. What lines do you all use that has NO MEMORY?

Spinning or baitcasting with what lure??
For me anything i can cast just as good with a baitcaster as spinning. IM choosing the caster. Its just a preference i think i get more feel of what my bait is doing and on my stx i can palm it and have my forefinger right under the line for more sensitivity. I just prefer a bc over spinning reel.

chatter baits
It doesnt fish like a buzzbait but you can make it. When the fish are shallow try casting it and landingit slightly on the shore and burn it on the top of the water maybe five feet in and let it sink and they will nail it a lot of the time on the fall and if they dont just reel her back into you. I have been very succeful with that method, just reeling it in, and doing a stop and go retrieve where i would let it sit on the bottom for a second and then rip it. Rage Tail craws are exellent trailors.

Black Hills (Little Seneca lake) night fishing
My best times at black hills have been at night. My buddy used to live in a house not far from the little section of the lake where the road crosses it near the boat ramp. We used to sneak in there at night and fish and we would bang em out. We would go to the same spot during the day and wouldnt catch nearly any. The bass arent used to being caught at night and are a lot less skeptical about biting i would HIGHLY suggest fishing those night dates. (or just sneak in haha)

How often are you "SKUNKED"?
You have to get skunked everynow and then it makes those days where you bang em out that much better.

Which Lure should I use tonight
I agree also definetly try the frog. You said tonight are you going to be fishing the last hour of light?

Whats the best live bait ever?
i voted minnows allthough i dont use live bait but im sure any baitfish will get the job done since that is the bass' main forage

If you could only have 5 lures
1)senko worm 2)Booyah HD spinnerbait 3)Sebile Magic Swimmer (love this lure but cant find em anymore) 4)Football Jig 5)some sort of top water(sorry couldnt choose between all the great topwater baits)

Snag Proof Mouse/Frog and other similar lures
when frog fishing sometimes i try waiting a second before setting the hook so i dont yank it out of their mouths. I do notice that i land more this way.

Swim baits.
Well there are two categories of swimbaits i think. One is swimbaits you can fish with normal tackle and the other you need heavy tackle since the lures weigh from 1 to 3 ounces. So it depends on what kind you would want. Check mattlures they make really nice handpoured swimbaits. Or for the lighter hollow bodied swimbaits the basstrix i think has the best action but are hard to get. The berkley hollow bodied ones are also good. As long as you dont try and go cheap you will probally be alright.

Your Skunkbuster bait?
this year i have a new one. Its the sebile Magic Swimmer this thing is deadly. I use the 3 inch and havent used it and not caught one yet

lee bailey chatter bait
you can just use em like a spinnerbait but they are very versatile. you can slow roll em or burn em with steady retrieves. I found that a stop and go retrieve seems to work really well and you can vertically jig them and they are pretty effective. One really good method i found is cast to the shore and burn it in so it is on top of the water like a buzzbait and then let it sink down and then reel her in and a lot of the times if theres a bass in the area they will hit it.
