swivel snaps
I use to use them and then one day fishing at a pond i caught a decent size fish and lost it. When i got the end of my line my lure was gone, swivel still tied on (so knot didnt break) and the swivel was bent right out of the snap. I immediately stopped using them and probally never will again. They are convenient but not enough to loose a fish

Need a Cranking reel-Curado 200E5 or Revo Winch
yea and price. The curado is i think $30 cheaper. Also Abu is giving you a pair of wiley x sunglasses (it says $129 value) with the purchase of any revo over $159. So thats making it even harder now.

Do you use the same side retrieve (LH, RH) with both spinning and baitcasting gear?
Im right handed, but my very first pole when i was real little was a spincast and it was right handed. My dads baitcasters were right handed so ive always switched my spinning reels to retrieve with the right hand. I dont even know if i could reel with my left hand ive never done it ;D

She-man-o
I voted abu because i have 2 spinning reels and an stx. I just got my stx back from sending it to their service department. I had it sitting on a table after i just took the line off of it and my neice ended up knocking it off and i dont know exactly what went wrong with it but long story short i got it back from abu in less then 10 days completely fixed and they didnt charge me a dime. (and my one year warranty was expired) I dont see how anyone could beat that customer service I am planning on buying a curado 200E5 for cranking. All in all you cant go wrong with either one. I would never trade my STX

Which Flourocarbon?
Thanks everyone i think I'm definitely going to try the trilene 100% Ive heard nothing about good things. I was stuck between XPS and trilene and I'm going to go with trilene, it is a little more expensive but should be worth it.

Need a Cranking reel-Curado 200E5 or Revo Winch
I am planning on buying a new reel and rod for crankbaiting. I cannot choose between the Revo winch or curado 200E5. Both are a 5.4:1 gear ratio (or something like dat) If anyone has ever used or has both i would appreciate any feedback

Which Flourocarbon?
This year i want to fish with flouro...there seems to be many advantages over mono and want to give it a shot. Ive heard that its really important to get a good flouro. What do you all think is the best flouro line that doesnt empty the wallet too much?

Mojo vs. Legend Tournament Bass

Casting Accuracy Spin VS Baitcst
Accuracy is more angler then reel. Its more personal preference on accuracy with the reel. Which ever your more comfortable with you will be more accurate with. Im just as accurate with a spinning as i am a casting, i just prefer casting reels.

ColdWater Lures
40 degree water, Suspending jerks and nothing else.... may not catch 20 but they are usually bigguns.

Maryland in April
Tridelphia is nice but the two best lakes in my opinion are Deep Creek and black hills. Black hills may be a little tougher to get a bite your first bunch of times but they have lots of large and very healthy fish in there. I mainly fish black hills and cunninham falls lake which is also has very healthy bass. And i usually just float down the potomac, but the smallies will be tearin it up here in about a month.

Bass do learn!!! they are smarter then you think Read this
Now they were talking about tournament fishing and im pretty sure it was kvd who was saying it, so he could of meant they see so many from "weekend anglers" he wants to throw something they havent seen. KVD always has his own style and power fishes when everyone thinks you should finnesse thats why hes the angler of the year AGAIN

New Poll about the forum!

Bass do learn!!! they are smarter then you think Read this
You know Deer arent to smart either but they definetely know when they are being hunted and the BIG BUCKS most of them, after rut you only see at night. Every bass is diffrerent they have genetics too so there smarts are passed down too. So some are smart and some are stupid and im sure not many of the stupid ones make it to 7lbs. BASSTIMES had a real good article on this and it gave lots of thoughts from pros and if i remember correctly many of them agreed they learned. Thats why they use a lot less spinnerbaits

Bass do learn!!! they are smarter then you think Read this
I believe Large bass do get conditioned to lures. Dotti that 25lb bass the guy in CA foul hooked she was only caught 3 times in like 2 years. If they didnt get conditioned i think she would have been cuaght more then 3 times. I think this is really only for the larger bass as if they didnt have the smarts that the others dont they wouldnt get that big. I mean a bass to reach 25 lbs has got to no when to say no to a lure

Tru-Tungsten weighted worms?
I think he meant the nail weights you can buy. They have them at bps and most tackle shops they just slide in the plastic and come in many various weights

Best Lipless Crank
Xcalibur and red eye shad.... The fall of the red eye shad is the selling point for it. It has a wobble when it falls and if you yo-yo the bait it is deadly...The xcalibur IMO gives off lots of vibration and a nice tight wobble and is my favorite lipless even tho its about double the price of the ratltrap

how old?
Check out this article http://www.bassresource.com/fish_biology/raising_trophy_bass.html It talks about a guy that got 4 pounders and a couple sixs in two years they were an inch when he stocked them. Then he created a slot limit on his pond and it diminished his trophy bass. Its a great article

The Bass Still Biting ??
Smaller ponds will start to become less productive now but lakes in the north should be great fishing the next couple weeks. Ponds cool down much quicker so it seems they become less productive quicker. You can still catch them but some may be deeper and it may be better to fish at the hottest part of the day. There definetely still biting though
