  1. Sorry, step up, as in heavier.
  2. And BTW Chris, one run from Buffalo SBH to Seneca shoals, and that box will be totally homogenized, LOL. Pro tip: silicone cement those dividers!
  3. I use three FTO boxes. One is for T-rigs and C-rigs, another for small jigs, and a third for drop shot, and other little doo-dads.
  4. Pretty much, you got it. Cast them out, and count them down to where the fish are, and reel them in just fast enough to keep them at that depth. Need to speed up to trigger bites, step in weight. Usually it's the opposite though, and you go lighter for slower retrieve. Do not try with suspended smallies, it doesn't work on them either.
  5. Perhaps. The Zillion's AR tube does not have seatment tabs like the Curado either, and that may figure in as well.
  6. OK, we get it. The point nazi has spoken, LOL. Amd yes, trees, docks, stumps, etc. are cover. Weed lines, mud lines, and shadows could be argued as something completely different - edges.
  7. They always do, especially in tournaments, LMAO.
  8. True super UL rods, for throwing 1/80 oz. jigs are always spinning. The underspin is WAYYY more user friendly to me than a super UL spinner. It's much better made as well.
  9. The advantage is being able to use a spin cast reel with a spinning rod. I have an micro under spin from Zebco and a Daiwa ultra light rod. It's a great combo for kids to catch sunnies and creek chub with. Even small bass.
  10. It's pretty much a straight pull on an A-rig, where an offset, "R" bend spinnerbait it's, well....offset. I can see it being an issue if it gets two of the baits, or does the barrel roll, but hopefully with heavy enough line, you get them in green before that happens. Besides, if you're catching pike, you're in the wrong spot. Last thing, I know these are being used for walleyes, and holding up, and they were originally used for stripers - stripers! man! - so a 10 lb. pike should be child's play.
  11. The wire used to make these things is heavier than any wire I've used as a leader for pike.
  12. So far this season, all I can say is, "What snow?"
  13. The Zillion is a little faster, and a little smoother. The Curado has more drag power out of the box. Either would suit you fine.
  14. That is very true, he just says it like it is, but I don't think I've bought a single product KVD hawks. That's weird, now that I think of that.
  15. I consulted Long Mike, it's tertiary.
  16. That article pops up once a year in In-Fisherman. I have a plastics grave yard in my boat.
  17. I've ridden in several Rangers, and driven both Bullets and Gamblers. My experience level is somewhat higher with Bullets. Gamblers aren't really the same as Bullets. They are easier to drive, handle better, and fish better. All this comes with a minor sacrifice of just a couple MPH on the top end. They really aren't anything like Allisons, Bullets, or other "racing first" hulls. I'm seriously thinking about a Gambler as my next boat as well, though mine will be used. I'd say, PLEASE get soem seat time! They aren't anything like your Ranger.
  18. I think you got: Northern Grass Pickerel Chain Pickerel
  19. Just about every pair of glasses I've owned fog up when I get warm, sunglasses, reading, prescription, or otherwise. I think it's probably an issue that varies from person to person, so telling someone it isn't an issue is moot.
  20. My pointers work right. I don't own any MB jerks anymore, northerns made off them, which was semi on purpose, long story. But they seemed to very slowly float. It takes anywhere from 2 to 5 X-Raps to get one that sits right in the water. One trick, put a 2X hook up front. That'll give a bad one that head down attitude that seems delicious to fish. My very best jerkbait, a JDM flash minnow, is pure poison. It's more of a shimmy bait. Less is MUCH MUCH more with it.
  21. I bounced a dink off Maico's outboard in Saranac a couple years ago, with a hard hookset, LOL.
  22. If I wanted a countdown, I'd buy a countdown. And for bass, not a fan. For northerns, well that's another story!
  23. Some JJ's Magic will get them to hold the plastic baits a little longer.
  24. Well, this has run it's course.
