  1. You don't need any brakes for pitching, just your thumb. All you need is a free spool, so pick a reel that feels comfortable for a whole day of fishing.
  2. Nope, neither has http://www.resellerratings.com/.
  3. You have big fish...... :. http://dnr.wi.gov/fish/record/recorda-l.htm
  4. I have one, and so does my son. Got mine a few years ago, Gander IIRC. My son's came from Gap Kids.
  5. Huh...I fish in NY. I don't have proper equipment to throw large swimbaits either. So I throw small- medium swimbaits, and destroy bass on them. I wouldn't worry too much about filling your boat with Musky. Ha ha...i think i'm more worried about losing expensive swim baits to them, not catching them. Then you're fishing the wrong places. Pretty much the only time I lose baits to pike is bass post spawn, when there is a great amount of overlap in fish location, but the pike are more active. Mostly its deep cranks, and jigs, not swimbaits that are lost.
  6. Your going to buy a whole new set up JUST to fish t-rigged rage craws??? Seems a little ill-conceived to me but.......... I gotta agree with this. I wouldnt even buy a rage craw let alone a specific rod for throwing them. Couldnt help myself. Tell ya what, buy yourself a jig rod and fish rage craws with it. Or if yer flippin heavy cover then buy a flippin stick. Personally I buy a Verdict 7'6in MH and a few bags of Brush Hogs. You still save some bucks while catching more and bigger fish. I'm just fishing ponds though. I rarely throw anything other than a Rage Craw, jig, frog, or swimbait. I have a frog/swimbait rod, and a Lowrider 7' HF paired with a Citica and 50/12 PP, which I throw the Craws with now. It just isn't stiff enough, so I want to get something heavier. I have a "lunch break pond" I fish daily when there is open water, and it isn't too crappy out. I can wholeheartedly tell you I've caught many of the fish 5 or 6 times. And I have also conditioned them to refuse many baits. By late summer, they are a real challenge, and the pond seems like all the fish are gone. Tie on something new, and they magically reappear. Rethink your game plan
  7. They WERE an issue, a few years ago, totally turned many off the brand. I have a 1000 FG, and this was supposedly one of the "binders." Its never bound up for me. BTW, CI4 helped catch the fish in the avatar. The 1000 FG caught this fish.
  8. Probably not. Take a look at the Michigan Grip Convergence rods: http://fish.shimano.com/publish/content/global_fish/en/us/index/products/rods/salmon_steelhead/Convergence_Salmon_Steelhead_Michigan_Handle_Spinning.html. Can't go wrong for $80. I have the 10'er for small tribs.
  9. Gas augers and graphs are for sissies
  10. Oh my! I've some insane Lynch runs, but that was a run of his career.
  11. They did: http://www.japantackle.com/Daiwa_reels/Daiwa_PX68.htm
  12. Are you kidding? I see a TON of both of these reels both on the water, and going out for cleanings. I'd say combined, close to what you see in Curados. Def. more than Revos.
  13. I've used mine in drowning rain, and sub freezing temps. No issues yet. The only mod I've done to mine is a Carbontex drag replacement.
  14. Seems like a bad attempt at tongue and cheek "therapy" session. Came off thuper-fabulouth. Not that there is anything wrong with that.
  15. I don't really care, so long as the hood and ring for the reel seat are comfortable.
  16. They are, in 99% of daylight hours, LOL.
  17. Who's the best internet fisherman? ;D
  18. These float: http://www.***.com/Strike_King_3X_ElazTech_Z_Too_4pk/descpage-SK3XZ.html Don't use too heavy a hook.
  19. Bogus info meant to bully us.
  20. Why do you feel you need sponsorship to fish tournaments?
  21. That's actually four baits. Which one?
  22. If you are in NY state, you pay NYS sales tax if you bought online. Its in your tax return form. Now, anyone actually do this?
