  1. It was a long weekend in Boston. My GF graduated from Emerson, so we went for a visit.
  2. Try a big football head with the Keitechs. They do a nice "kick out" when the head bangs off rocks.
  3. Yeah, don't think it had anything to do with a "fishing region," more just carving up a map. I doubt there's much in common between Washington and Arizona, fishing wise, but they're both in the western forum, lol.
  4. I think originally, Glenn just sliced up the country. Most people list the state in the title, so no one gets confused.
  5. You should have bought her a vacuum for Valentine's Day.
  6. The bent rod pattern is strong up here.
  7. Oneida Lake at 10,000 feet:
  8. Hope you're fishing for trout. No live bait for bass until 3rd Saturday in June.
  9. The top cap isn't glass. The only difference I see is that the consoles and livewell are chop gun glass as opposed to roto-molded plastic. It may actually be stronger than the plastic. The more I look at the hulls though, the more I like the Lund. I'm anxious to see what exactly "changes everything" in regards to glass bass boats. I'm also interested to see the multi species boat. The last glass boat that made me look twice, design wise were Basscat's high end FTD models. The storage set up is what sets them apart.
  10. That's because you're repeating the marketing. It's a welded aluminum hull. Period. There is no glass infused into aluminum. some of the deck, livewell, and the consoles are glass. The main pieces are the unusual welded transom reinforcement and that all exposed aluminum surfaces are painted. It has to be some the most misleading marketing to date. Especially odd, since the two things I mentioned are a big deal. I priced out similarly rigged Lund and Vexus and the Vexus came out cheaper by around 10%. Some of this is engine size, though I feel they will slot their glass sleds in to be competitive.
  11. Sometimes I use the floor mat from the back seat of the truck, too.
  12. All i do is put a bath mat down. Then I hook up the dolly, load up, and wheel it down to the water's edge. Sort of forgot about the bath mat, maybe that's a better plan. Been a long winter.
  13. Or don't drag it on pavement. I've never added any extra protection to the hulls of my kayaks.
  14. Walking around Allston:
  15. A decent, wide canoe or something like a used Wilderness Systems Commander 140 (hybrid kayak/canoe) would probably suit you best for comfort and ease. If have the budget to splurge, a Hobie Pro Angler 14 would be the nicest. You're definitely looking for a boat that has a 450 lb. capacity or better. What ever you decide on, get some seat time on the water.
  16. https://www.hobie.com/kayaks/mirage-outback/#fishing The 2019 Hobie Outback comes Micro Power Pole Ready. I've seen guys run two Micros off the back. I can only imagine having one in the front and rear being a huge impediment. I anchor quite a bit in mild current, and sometimes heavy wind, and I actually don't mind the "swing." It helps me explore angles when fishing a break.
  17. Yes. Next up, leader knots and is braid worth it. To answer the OP, I make my kid hold the line on a pencil.
  18. I put a pad on a cot, when possible. Otherwise a good pad is fine. I attached a checklist you can use for packing. Most of this is for site camping, but you can modify for wilderness camping if needed. Camping Checklist.xlsx
  19. They're an invasive from southern Asia. Probably started it's life in an aquarium, then outgrew it, and some well meaning person released it.
  20. It really depends on the type of casting and the weight of the rig. I use both.
  21. Looks like a walker to me.
  22. Pretty sure he's invested in Favorite. It's more than a sponsorship deal.
  23. https://postimages.org/ Paste the direct link here, and the pic will show up.
  24. Riding the "T"
  25. They’re awful. You’d have remembered it. They probably couldn’t with the broken bones.
