  1. So, private property?
  2. The only people I've ever seen using them were sponsored by them. Seems gimmicky to me.

  4. Nice, healthy fish. Congrats!
  5. At around 4:00 you can see my spinnerbait hookset using a mod fast Okuma TCS spinnerbait rod:
  6. I thought Lund has sport track fender hangers.
  7. I rifle cast spinnerbaits, so I get enough force going to load a medium power rod just fine. I think guys that use the gentle roll cast probably prefer the slower rod. They both work.
  8. Throwing the bait vs. setting the hook. If I'm using a slower rod, I put a wollup of a hookset on them. Extra fast, you usually just have to sweep set.
  9. That setup will be fine, though I prefer an extra fast taper for spinnerbaits. 14# Trilene was my go to line for decades, and is very versatile.
  10. I guess it would depend on whether you're getting bit or not. Maybe it's just not the right presentation for where you like to fish. I can catch many species on drop shot, but not if it's the wrong location.
  11. Most of the restrictions are aimed at people angling on shore at the ramp. I've never seen any restrictions on fishing from a boat. Obviously, if someone is launching or retrieving, don't fire in there. There's often a blowout hole at the end of the ramp from power loading. There, and the corners are my hot spots. Fish it with whatever lure you feel they on that day.
  12. I agree on the speed, tied a YUM Tip-Toad on my heavy (JWR 804) jig rod to try it out, since it was my only braided set up, and the 6.3:1 TD-X was a little tiring to use. The bait was awesome, though.
  13. I still want to go by those old pylons. Never marked them because you could always just see them. Now that the water is higher by a couple feet, and green, can't see them.
  14. Me too, but in fall on Oneida, you gotta.
  15. Lots IPT, and a powerful drag are what you want for toads. Looks like you made a good choice in the Speed Demon.
  16. It's $6 for more than you'd ever need in a year, lol. I'd never use a 100' roll of the stuff, so there's no savings. I only buy in bulk when I use in bulk.
  17. That's how I feel. Kind of changing how I'm imagining what I'm seeing on the graph.
  18. Really good question! Very close to this spot are a set of submerged dock pilings. Some are straight, some are crooked. The straight ones should work just like your telephone pole test case. The water is really green right now, so this will be a good test of my ability to read the returns. I'll try to get some shots next time I'm out on "The City Dump."
  19. Totally different tools. Neither cancels the other out.
  20. Yes, and in fact, here's some video as I approach:
  21. I know from dealing with aquarium fish that can change color (Cichlids), a few things can factor in. Water Clarity, Light penetration, background color, which would include rocks, clay bottom, even vegetation, and just overall mood play a roll. Anyway, here are muddy brown fish for attention: And all the way back to the 90s!
  22. I'm going by the documentation for my pre Mega Helix. It's probably narrower than my diagram, somewhere between yours and mine? Maybe this will help? the bait is below and to both sides, all the way to the surface.
  23. Think of the image "folded. Directly under the boat is that dark spot, or middle (/\) of what I typed below. The sides are the flat. You're in 20" water, so the tree occupies that 20' wide footprint in the (/\). If *I* were to mark the point, I'd use the DI if I wanted the most accuracy. SI is like this: /\ _____/ T\_____ The T is you basically your tree. The owner's manual is probably a better bet for a perfect explanation.
  24. Storm Suspend Dots were invented for this.
