  1. Moth balls and dryer sheets work for me.
  2. Looks to be a slightly heavier wire, and has that sweet Owner Cutting Point. I use mushroom heads, but don't throw a Ned rig, so I'm interested in ordering some.
  3. Combine the tuned "R" versions, and the legacy models with a new paint job in the SV line, and it's even less. But I digress, MORE MODELS IS A GOOD THING!!!
  4. Not sure about Beyonce (I don't listen to her music, but assume she's a typical Pop/R&B artist), but the Dixie Chicks fit the profile. But even beyond that, when have "music award" shows ever featured anyone other mass appeal artists? And who cares?
  5. So you're hearing the "clicking" of the drag indicator when it's slipping? If so, there's something not right. You should be able to get to almost lock-down on that.
  6. Industry standard is 300% markup, minimum. Sometimes more on super inexpensive items. Mike's are already 10% less than Z-Man. Besides, why does it matter to you? How about you go through all the hoops, spend for a website, spend for advertising, invest in time on social media, all to spend even more time making the jigs, and fulfilling orders, all at a so called "lower price" because in your head you could do it cheaper because you already make them yourself. Then, after you've done all that, wait for "THAT GUY" to show up on your new product announcement post to say he can do it cheaper. Jeez.
  7. Even then that's not "twice as many."
  8. Not quite. Take away the JDM and "power handle" jigging reels, and they both offer about the same number of models.
  9. Probably driven by market forces. Profits override petty politics.
  10. It appears they indeed are filing bankruptcy. Sussman Shank LLP is representing them. Perhaps contact them instead of Trey Kistler...I don't think he's a lawyer.
  11. Sharks. With frikin' lasers on their heads!
  12. That's an understatement!
  13. I use the Routes feature on the Navionics phone app. Been using it for years for both mapping out tournament runs and kayak trips. You can plug in your speed, and it will determine the arrival times.
  14. If there are big fish in the pond, and you think you know where they are, you sit on them until they bite. Throw whatever you like, if they're inactive, you have to wait them out.
  15. This is how I learned to fish as a very young kid. you can sub any sinker for the split shot, or use that. The "proper" way was supposed to be a pre-snelled hook above the weight, but those were way more money than a little box of Eagle Claw #8 gold hooks. The term "drop shot" wouldn't be coined for another 20 years or so. For bait, we used live night crawlers, soft shell crabs (recently molted crayfish), crickets, and grubs.
  16. It can get pretty humid here. All I have t do is leave a lure in a box for a month, and there will be rust. It's a guarantee. The Airflow boxes or just putting holes in with a soldering iron COMPLETELY solved the issue better than any other suggestion in this thread.
  17. They have an interesting portfolio..... http://peakrockcapital.com/portfolio/
  18. I've always had rust issues, for decades, until I switched to holy boxes. Seriously. I can't believe people say they never get rust...
  19. That's a great idea!
  20. If you are gong to try multiple baits on a DS, make sure each bait requires the same hookset. It makes no sense to me to put a jig with a brush guard on light line, and then put a thin wire mosquito hook above it. What bait are you getting bit on? What hookset? Never mind that the line is almost invariably damaged on the tag end - remember my rule about tying good knots, cinch the tag side only - and this just starts to sound like a worse idea in practice than on paper.
  21. If you want nice, clean holes, use a soldering iron with a fine tip. Do it outside, or somewhere well ventilated.
  22. Also, one my favorite, reasonble reds is DaVinci Chianti Reserva. Usually around $12-14 a bottle.
  23. Flea Market here is your best bet. I've been buying and selling reels on the cheap for years here.
  24. I think for an extra five bucks, you can the pint of oil and the pump. Very convenient.
