  1. It probably only needs a drop of oil on each spool bearing.
  2. When you're learning to pitch, don't bother with anything lighter than 3/4 oz. Once you get the action down, decrease bait size in small increments.
  3. Luck Craft Pointer SP 100
  4. What cover? Ever fish off shore on Erie? There is no cover.
  5. Really, that's all you need there- drop shot. I just start with jigging spoons because they're fun to fish, and if the fish are active, you can jig away, and horse them in with heavier tackle.
  6. I'd be bringing 1 baitcaster for jigging spoons, and the rest all set up for drop shot. There's some tips in this thread:
  7. Tie direct with braid, or use something durable, like P-Line CXX. I much prefer the strength over any "perceived" gains in sensitivity. Those Manley rods are pretty nice, and should be sensitive anyway.
  8. Pitching is tough to do sitting. Other than that, not really. One time it's an advantage is skipping docks. You're already low to the water, so it just quick side stab cast to get under a dock, or overhanging tree.
  9. I wouldn't bother with kayak fishing if I couldn't stand. Like was said earlier, seat time, stand time, even try to make casts seated and standing. It's a great way to fish.
  10. Who said it was OUR lure we were getting. Heh! I find good baits left behind all over the place where I fish.
  11. Sam, can you provide a link? We can't really cut and paste from another site, unless it's a press release marked for distribution. Thanks!
  12. Post some GPS coords, lol.
  13. That's my advice. And maybe get a limb cutter on a long extension pole.
  14. My understanding is that just about every body of water that can support life has craws. There's over 300 species in this country. Some waters might be too acidic for them, though.
  15. Not my PB, but second best NY largemouth bass, caught on a similar rod, though lower level SCII Eyecon 6-8 MXF, Stradic 1000 (not sure which, wood knob), 15# Power Pro, Seaguar 10# Fluoro Leader, 3/32 Zappu wacky jig, Flick Shake worm. 7-1

  17. I like the swivel idea. I either use a lightly weighted wacky jig, or a pinch on bullet weight, just above the hook.
  18. What do you mean by this? It has no shape, no bottom? "Structure" is the shape and contour of the bottom. Describe that.
  19. Usually the motive behind these posts is to see what you want to learn next.
  20. Jig. There's a jig for just about any situation you run into.
  21. I had a 16' semi-v rowboat with a small 8.8 hp on it, with a cracked (and repaired) transom that worked fine. If was a something bigger, or fiberglass, I'd stay away.
  22. That rings a bell - jigger-poling. Forgot about that. Thanks!
  23. 5-12: Avid AVS63MLXF, Shimano Stradic CI4 2500, 6 lb. Invisx, Crosstail Shad on a drop shot rig.
  24. Cupped means just that - custom work to cup the fins of the prop. Often you plug the exhaust vents on a performance prop for better hole shot.
