  1. If you use a proper rod and set the drag, you shouldn't have an issue. If you need to horse them from cover, this probably isn't the right bait for the job.
  2. You can hold on to those, but it's a longer climb.
  3. You lose your rigs in the weeds?
  4. Pretty sure this is referring to reel seats that are not blank through seat design. You might try Zebco, they still make rods like this. There's a few JDM makers doing specialty rods like this too, but that might be labor intensive and costly. DVT's idea is your best bet.
  5. Go get a job, and get to the top. Doesn't matter what it is you do, it's work to get to the top, so, you better like it.
  6. And we're done here.
  7. Fly is busy trolling pats fans in the deflater thread.
  8. Get a small 1.5L dry bag. I like the softer Sea to Summit bags.
  9. Never had a fish pull a rod out of a flush mount. They're under the water, below the boat. No way for them to lift a rod out of the holder.
  10. Those pantaloons are pimp.
  11. Comeback? Were they ever there?
  12. Plop-plop-plop. Pause. Repeat.
  13. Leashes and other random cordage is a hazard in a kayak. For rod holders, I use a combination of flush mount and adjustable trolling style holders. I like to have one or two free spots free for when I land a fish. You can also use a scupper hole as a temporary holder.
  14. Any MH/F will be fine. I like a rod around 7', but not too much more than 7-6.
  15. I tie the boat to the trailer. I back the boat in just far enough that it will slide off easily. I untie the boat from the trailer. I either drive it off the trailer or if there's a dock, I use the bow and stern lines to pull it off.
  16. You guys would laugh if you saw the micro swivels used for salmon fishing in the rivers.
  17. Wind typically concentrates bait fish. This concentrates bass. From shore or boat, this usually means fishing into the wind. Not always though.
  18. Look up some videos of Chad Hoover in the Ride. Wildy boats typically lock in best when you lean on them. Initially, the move on the centerline. It's how they are able to make a stable hull that also tracks well.
  19. Funny that the one line you do use is one of the better lines that doesn't suffer as much from the drawbacks you mention as many, many others.
  20. Take a look at what guys are doing with glide baits. It's not "hunting" if you're in control of what the bait is doing.
  21. I wonder what costs more, a full ride for a pro, or giving thousands of college kids 10% off. I wonder which nets more return on investment.
  22. The rope I use around 10' long. I back in far enough that I can slide the boat off, but still stays on the trailer.
  23. Every mud puddle that can hold a bass in it coughed up a 10 pounder, according to at least one random guy fishing that day I'm there. Seriously, every single time I hit a shore spot, there's some random guy talking about a 4,5,6,7,8,9, or 10 pounder caught there. I let my own personal results tell the truth, and I generally keep it to myself.
  24. Here's where the swimbaiter's toolkit is better - many of the baits we're using CAN do this, on a long cast.
