  1. Never had any issue with the knot, Hybrid, or CXX - outside of the usual knot tier ones. Sometimes I test a knot, and it isn't good. SOmetimes the knot wears out from abrasion.
  2. I've been buying Popmax baits like it's my job. Two will get you over the limit.
  3. I haven't had any issue with rigs I've used - YUM, Picasso, Terminator. I just use the stock snaps.
  4. You don't have zebra mussels yet. If I can figure out how to make braid scissors out of them, I'll be rich!
  5. I like a heavier jig, 1/2 and 3/4 are what I use most often in grass.
  6. Next best thing is hearing it. This is from almost 15 years ago, but it's the big DW kit, all the big K cymbals, and the 60 year old chrome on brass snare drum. I'm afraid you'll have to wait until late fall to hear the new wood drum, though it's quickly edging out my Omar Hakim African mahogany snare I usually prefer.
  7. You'll get a kick out of this. It's a badge detail from that drum's grandfather, a 50s era round badge chrome on brass 8 lug snare. I wish I still had the rest of that trap kit.
  8. It's a Sub Wart. I have a bunch - great baits if you can your hands on some. They're sort of like a Mann's -1 got really drunk and can't walk straight. Really wobbly.
  9. Someone brought a wooden hoop snare drum home, and stopped by Field and Stream store for a few more Pop-Max colors.
  10. I read the water I fish.
  11. It sounds like a algae bloom.
  12. Get both because it's always better to decide for yourself what you like.
  13. The half hitches make a ramp up to the thicker part of the knot. After some fishing, it gets burnished and flows smoother.
  14. As close as possible. You can put a couple half hitches to smooth the transition.
  15. My mistake Hootie. MudBugs belong in the box, not in storage. Sell those for MudBugs.
  16. That will work. I like a longer rod.
  17. Most of my bass rods are one piece, save a couple travel rods. Both my float rods and fly rods are two or three piece. Honestly, sensitivity has more to do with the blank quality and build over how many pieces. It just so happens that many low end rods come in two piece.
  18. Recently? It shouldn't make noise at all.
  19. Actually, just barely taught works best. Too much tension and you link the leader. But don't quote me - I still can't get it to hold every time, lol.
  20. I guarantee that you drag police, the owner, the kid at the pro shop and your Aunt Martha over to the pond for a debate, it will end with no one being to fish that place. When it comes to private property and legal issues, we err on the side of caution. Not much more discuss here.
