  1. Oust Metöl is what I like.
  2. The Owner Down Shot hooks were designed for this, and are the best I've found for it.
  3. I tried, she keeps coming back for more.
  4. The little guys come in a tray inside the bag.
  5. What is this "sun" you speak of? Seriously, as I get older I think back on how recklessly unprotected my skin was.
  6. A 20/0 circle hook is how I snagged my girlfriend. It only requires slight pressure for a good hookup rate.
  7. That spring serves to hold a trip lever in place. It's the lever, and the bail connection itself that flip the bail back into position, not the spring, like "bail springs" of old. Out of the hundreds of spinning reels I serviced, the only springs like that I replaced were from when someone unqualified took the reel apart. In the beginning, that guy was me, lol. Anyway, that spring doesn't ever need changing, and I'd changing it fixed the reel, chances are cleaning out the rest of the mechanism is what fixed it. Now saltwater, well that can corrode a spring - maybe that's your issue with the Penn.
  8. Well, it will sound alarms and go into limp mode if you run out of oil, but are you saying there's water in there too? That's not good.
  9. Keep them in the clamshells. They're too delicate.
  10. Most local club tournaments are Senko only events, lol.
  11. Real asbestos drag discs, lol.
  12. Personal feel trumps and technical measurement when it comes to "balance." For me, it either feels good or not. A different rod and reel mix can be night and day difference.
  13. If it doesn't leak it's fine. Put a $30 skeg kit on it if you want.
  14. Nothing holds up to my 30 year old DAM Quckie. Had a worm drive gearing system. Way cool. Weighed about 7.5 lbs.
  15. If you take the teel off the rod, you should be able to see that the line is rubbing on the frame, looking from under the reel.
  16. Spinning reels haven't had bail springs since the mid 80s.
  17. The oil is a lot thinner than any ATF I've ever used.
  18. It doesn't have anything to do with slipping on the spool nor does it need to get sent out. Just strip some line off the spool. He's lucky he didn't lose a fish from breaking off.
  19. Line is stacked up on one side of the spool and rubbing the frame. Nothing wrong with the reel, just over filled.
  20. That's the purpose of the skeg -to protect the prop.
  21. I'd fish for frosted flakes. They're great!
  22. You'd have to do a google search for the exact lower unit. They range from $30 to a little over $100. You need to be a little bit handy. I put one on a little 20 hp years ago.
  23. Most other European countries drive on the right, like us. It's Britain, and her "colonies" when cars were invented (Australia, India, etc.), and Japan that are the left drivers. I'm sure someone will do a google search to show me the exceptions, but that's pretty much it.
