Rocks aren't typically "cover" but they can used similarly. Boulders come to mind, but generally the immovable bottom is referred to as structure and anything over it is cover. My favorite cover is fallen trees.

What does stiffness have to with pitching? I love my Loomis 804 JWR fir docks. That extra power and shorter length really helps put the screws to a big fish on a short leash.

I'm not sure what the console location has to do with how good you are, but as long as the boat has all the required equipment, you should be able to fish in it. The reason so many use bass boats in bass tournaments is simply that they are set up for tournaments with years of user input in the design. Personally, I've always thought a center console bay boat would be an ideal rig for up here. The problem is they're expensive and none are locally available.

Fill it all the way, run WOT for 15 minutes. Fill it back up and see how much you needed. Multiply by 4 for gal/hour. You can do the same test for tournament loads and speeds as well.

For your new rig, learn on something inexpensive like 14# Big Game.

26 gal. Generally, less than 5 miles one way. Though I may end up 15-20 miles away from the launch. Must of the time it's less. The Pro Max will burn up 30 gal/hour at WOT.

Not at all. I use a much heavier weight than most recommend when deep drop for smallies. In fact, that's pretty much the same rig they used on the party boats fishing saltwater wrecks.
