  1. Do bass bite red baits? What shade? When? No one has the answer!
  2. If only right of way on the water was as easy, lol.
  3. I'm not sure what's so new? Is the head shape being larger supposed to prevent snags? I have plenty of light jigs that do this, but they weren't $6. They don't have a giant head either, as maybe that's the point?
  4. Don't know, but the original term for port was larboard, or something close.
  5. Not all old warts had the right wobble. Only the bad ones. Which are the good ones. There aren't too many of the good bad ones on the open market.
  6. Looks great. Pink made the cut, lol.
  7. Lol, you see what guys are trying to get for Warts in the FM?
  8. It helps if you're in front of a lake instead of a computer.
  9. Right side steering traces back to two things. Before motors, the steering oar was on the right, and boats moored with the dock to the left (where the term "port" originates. Later, as motors were used, having the extra weight on the right to counter the effect of a clockwise rotating prop worked best.
  10. Most people's notion of a lever is the classic teeter-totter or Class I lever. A fishing rod is more often used like a Class III lever.
  11. They aren't negative, they're comments meant to deflate your ego. You aren't that good yet, and you aren't that valuable to a company yet. Kids pimping products at shows tends to repel mature customers with money in their wallet. It isn't meant to be negative, it's just a fact of life. You have to earn it, and you haven't yet.
  12. In NY the law allows for more than the legal limit to cull live fish.
  13. Not sure you can call a discounted, discontinued reel a leader in a price segment.
  14. Generally, it's a change up to a spinnerbait for me, though that doesn't mean it's 100% correct. That's just how I use it.
  15. 12-14 lb. Big game. Fill it up, take out 50 yards and tape the spool, then reel it up. Back lashes won't go deep while your learning and the line is so inexpensive you won't worry about ruining $40 of line on your first cast.
  16. Hot pink.
  17. I find it doesn't really matter. I adapt to the reel. Balance and long term comfort are more important to me for jerks and tops.
  18. Is that a stump and soft water and a bass? I hate you.
  19. And Felix, everybody knows it's that erratic action that the big ones can't ignore. Lol.
  20. I think the easy stuff to attack are contradictory idioms we all use and hear: "Use a shorter rod to get leverage on a fish in close quarters." "A longer rod gives you more leverage on a big fish." Which is it? Depends on how you use the lever!
  21. One of the biggest fish I caught from "lunch break pond" went 6-1. A remarkable fish up here, for sure. What s more remarkable is that a BIGGER fish attacked my fish as I brought him in. Never got that one - who knows how big it was! I heard it say, "Mine!" Sounded just like the video I posted, lol.
  22. Can't yet - still have ice. Last year it was a pretty big fish, over 4 on a jika rig Rage Craw.
  23. I use an Avid 6-2 MXF for topwaters and jerkbaits. Also, short target spinnerbaits. Works fine with both braid and copoly alike.
