  1. Pretty much ANYTHING in that range will be pretty solid. I can't really think of anything to stay away from.
  2. That's old news. They have the past two years.
  3. Uhhh, why not just use that in the first place? I see no point in cleaning with something that you have to clean off to get something clean. Acetone for your bearings, and a good degreaser for the rest. I use Perfect Solution.
  4. 62 when I'm at work, and it's programmed to bump up to 67 in the evenings. I burn wood in a forced air fireplace insert, so the living room is always pretty warm.
  5. It contains solvents that actually break down and remove proper lubrication. I can't think of one single use of it for fishing.
  6. IT consultant for the past 13 years. I specialize in contact center analytics.
  7. Sometimes you have to make a few casts to "shake out" the coils. I know if a reel with CXX has been sitting a while, there will be some coils, but after you wet the line and a couple casts, it's fine.
  8. Sure, I'm not loyal to the model name, I'm loyal to a specific model. Just because I like an E series Curado doesn't mean I blindly accept the G series. To me, it's a different reel altogether.
  9. I'll be testing Power Pro 8, along side original Power Pro, 832, and hopefully Kanzan. Right now, it's still frozen, so nothing to report....
  10. Did you let it dry and setup? Was treated with something else previously? I generally pretreat my filler spools. Then I reapply after a day's fishing. It's doesn't start working until it's dry and set up.
  11. If it's there, this is the easiest way. Sometimes the wring is bundled with zip ties, making it impossible. I have a metal wire snake I picked up for around $10 at Home Depot that I've used for this. Take some pics of the dash, and the gunnel area, and maybe we can help you better.
  12. Pros generally run their wells in recirc mode, and are treated with something like: http://www.sure-life.com/. I use the Sure Life products, and they work. The main thing will be keeping the temperature somewhat consistent.
  13. Mike has terrible grammar. He's not a very good speller, either.
  14. You want a "stand up" head, not a shaky head. Just look at the description: shaky head, not stand up plastic. It's an evolution of the jigworm, adding a bait holder and longer, stout hook. A shaky head is a floating worm, where the jighead rests on the bottom, and the floating worm's tail rises. Shake the head (get it?) and the tail flops down, and rises again. Now a good standup head (try these, they stand up just about every time: http://www.megastrike.com/#!products/vstc2=shake2-heads) will accomplish what you want to do, and more. They have a rocker head that offers more control than the standard shaky head.
  15. Nothing wrong in being cautious. Be picky, you'll be stuck with her for a while.
  16. 2010 GMC Sierra with >60K. Actually went into limp mode this morning. Apparently I need a new throttle body.
  17. Not always in reels. There are several from every manufacturer that is using some exotic hardened metal in the reel line guide.
  18. Gonna be hard to find a 17 year old boat without some scratches.
  19. I'm not brand loyal, I'm model loyal.
  20. It helps the braid hold it's color longer.
  21. First off, no one did fishing promotion before Roland. He pretty much invented the deal, and the top pro bass anglers did not make nearly what they do today, so things like the Helicopter Lure, or that weird bobber launcher were probably easy money. Remeber, Roland also endorses products like Megastrike and Yamamoto. The Banjo Minnow was not invented by Rich Gannon, it was Capt. Ken Daubert, maker of the Clone Frogs that came up with that. He even still uses that goofy kahle hook with the rubber band. Gannon has that rubber snake thing. Personally, if some gimmicky lure gets someone into bass fishing, then who cares. I'll leave this thread running, but it is not an opportunity to bash any specific pros. Yogi Berra used to sell Mr. Coffee. I bet he gets his coffee from a Kuerig now, lol. Sell out!
  22. You just call Shimano. it's $1.50 a tube. 1-877-577-0600

The Owner is about the strongest hook you can find.
  24. I have half a million in liability on both boats. There's also some extra paid to fish the Great Lakes, since they aren't considered "inland waters." It's all rolled up into one payment, house, car, two boats, and some extensions for flood damage.
  25. This has been a topic that creeps up, and grabs everyone's attention now and again. While I certainly do not think we should ignore this, there are MUCH bigger issues out there. Runoff from pesticides and grass fertilizer is creating havoc on the great lakes. Flying carp are invading. Snakeheads. So on and so on...
