  1. My bass boat in the driveway. (null)
  2. I painted mine black, so other anglers don't see them.
  3. Yep, You can see it in the nose of the bigger bait here:
  4. I have 6' hanging off my pickup. I just tie a red flag on the end.
  5. Good question. No, I wouldn't stop fishing, but I know bass hang on to baits longer if you use something. Some seem better than others. I distinctly remember how ridiculously long bass held on to the "new" Berkley Powerworms, as compared to our usual Culpret worms, back in the early 90s.
  6. Then they will probably have a hard time with ANY sit on top.
  7. I agree, a "study" on bass behavior in nature is much different than an "experiment" in a lab, but how else would we know about things like a bass's chemo-receptors and what they react to with a controlled lab experiment? Both can provide useful information.
  8. P-Line CXX X-tra Tough. Get a big bottle of KVD L&L. You'll need it.
  9. More sensationalism by the media. They gotta sell ad space too, I guess. So we're clear, an iPhone or another electronic device itself is not protected under copyright. Just the printed manual and the software installed is.
  10. A great addition to the catch, weigh, and immediate release format. Kudos to MLF!
  11. If your're looking at Ocean Kayak, then the Prowler Big Game is what you want for standing. I have one. It's like a floating dock. You'll fall off it before you turtle it. The trade of is it paddles like a sheet of plywood. The rudder "option" is required equipment.
  12. And a third backup, with a alligator clips on long wires.... Great advice, No Good.
  13. Those look worlds better than my linesman pliers that I have for this.
  14. All bass fishing reels are "mass produced." Every brand has defects. That's why they have a warranty to protect you. The OP got to see this process first hand. You could probably find hundreds of people with a similar experience, and substitute any brand/model reel.
  15. Cover and depth are my first two criteria for weeding out what WON'T work. From there, experience is the key. Pick something, even if it's wrong. If you're on fish, you'll probably get bit. No one ever caught anything sitting in their boat, scratching their head.
  16. They're both VERY good boats. Malibu has really stepped things up, as far as fit and finish. My buddy is a pro staffer, and I've seen the evolution first hand. That said, the Ride is the boat for me. . I've had considerable seat time in both, and I recommend the same before you make your choice.
  17. Most will say put the money towards the rod, however, reels are more expensive. $200 will get you a good reel that will last years, but you can get a great rod for around $100.
  18. This will get you swamped. Point the bow high, and go easy.
