  1. I don't see it happening. Since the E series, they've billed the form factor as a 200 size reel in a 100 size package. I don't recall any Curado 50 size reels that predated E series. The Curado 50e was sort of a "weirdo" in the line.
  2. It's worth the $9 a bottle.
  3. No, a spoon. I do a lot of spooning in the fall. Everything likes the spoon. Here's one that was a little bigger, heh.
  4. This thread still makes me laugh.
  5. Try P-Line CXX. It seems to hold up pretty well. I've caught a TON of leaderless toothies with it, including this one on 8# CXX:
  6. I use a Daiwa TD-Sol/Alphas for all my cranking rods. They have a similar line capacity as the 50, and I don't have issues with running out of line or drastically different line pick up. You'll be fine.
  7. here's your instructions: http://fish.shimano.com/publish/content/global_fish/en/us/index/customer_service0/reel_maintenance_instructions.download.-mainParsys-0001-downloadFile.html/Maintenance%20Tips-%20Baitcasting%20Reels%20%282%20pages%29.pdf
  8. It's like $10 for an ounce, direct from Shimano.
  9. That's a respectable fish, nice work.
  10. The Chronarch E and Curado E use the same drag pad materials. The ONLY difference is the spacer behind the main gear is now carbon fiber. If you think the Chronarch has a smoother drag, it's because the drag grease is fresher on the Chronarch. Put a vapor thin film of Star Drag grease on the drag pad only, and your Curados will be as smooth as a new Chronarch.

  12. You just gotta keep your eyes out for them. Same goes for what ww2farmer said about the forums. I've picked up some great gear from here.
  13. Well, it's my reality, not a theory. And actually, BPS is a little over an hour from me, but a short detour from my trip to Onieda, so I generally stop at BPS after a day fishing Oneida.
  14. I don't recall. It had to do with how much you spent. Plus, there was a Shimano rebate at the time.
  15. I disagree. There is great benefit to reapplying after each trip, especially with some less manageable lines. It's a great idea to pretreat the filler spool as well, especially if you buy bulk spools.
  16. This is what I did. Three Chrnarch e for $118 each. I got some smoking deals on a couple rods, too.
  17. Ask a trusted marina or boat yard. They should have a line on someone local.
  18. Google it up, there's a ton of custom windshield places out there. Here's one I found that looks solid: http://getaboatwindshield.com/need_to_replace_a_windshield
  19. Personally, I'd want the bigger display up front, since I'd be looking at that most.
  20. 15# fluoro is too heavy for jerkbaits. I use 10# CXX and sometimes will drop to 8#. I don't really like fluoro for jerk baits, especially when using long pauses. It sinks too fast, and I lose that connected to the bait feel.
