  1. That looks fishy to me.
  2. Nice little 'bow!
  3. The President is probably your best bet for smooth on a budget.
  4. Pitching technique uses the rod tip as a fulcrum. The longer the rod, the more line out, and more leverage to sling the bait. That said, once you're proficient, length doesn't matter as much. Flipping, on the other hand, almost requires a longer rod. You're using a fixed amount of line out, and a longer rod can give you an extra foot or two of range.
  5. What does non delivery have to do with the good seller list? BTW, USPS tracking stating "delivered" means it was delivered to that particular post office. I suggest the buyer go to his local post office and inquire.
  6. I pitch with every single rod in my arsenal. It's just a cast. Learn to pitch with all your rods, and you will see what a handy skill it is. Especially if you're in the back of the boat.
  7. I've used the Legend Extreme production version of this blank, and it is one heck of a stick. It's a little more "tippy" than you'd expect, but with all that length, it's a beast. I have one Dobyns rod, a 745C Champ Extreme, and it is really ideal for pitching jigs. A little longer, but not too long, and super fast tip that loads easily.
  8. I think this is a very good point. In weeds, I cover ground. But any other hard cover, I pick that stuff apart. I can't tell you how many really good fish I've caught on the 3rd, 10th, 30th pitch to a likely spot. Here's one I got from a submerged tree on about the 10th cast. Two other kayak anglers had already worked this tree just before I took a shot at it.
  9. Get a Chatillon.
  10. I can taste the cheek meat...
  11. No more babies here, blowhard.
  12. From the 80s. Good little reels, for vintage. I put a few together for a client a few years ago.
  13. Yes, unless it's a hair jig.
  14. It should be fine, my only issue with lopro reels and heavier baits is the smaller spool sometimes slips under my thumb on the back cast. It's just easier for me to lock down on a round reel.
  15. They work in the NE very well. Should work fine for you.
  16. Still one of the funniest threads ever.
  17. It's snowing right now, but it's supposed to warm back up. PM me, if you want to hook up.
  18. The lunkerville episodes with Ronnie Jighead show it real well.
  19. Sorry, no politics. See the Forum Rules and FAQs.
  20. Whatever reel you choose, with practice you'll get proficient with that reel. Once you get to that level of refinement, you're only limiting factor will be the rod characteristics.
  21. They are separate species. Ours have one more stripe.
  22. Moved this to the Southeast forum. Hopefully some more locals will see it.
