  1. You're doing better than the best fisherman in the state: http://www.nybass.com/showthread.php?49691-The-NYBass-2012-Big-Bass-Board
  2. I have a 70 on my 18' Xpress, and it's perfect. If I've ever needed more power, I probably shouldn't be on the water.
  3. Those EU perch are beasts. My friend Tim gets them good in the Thames:
  4. What is wrong with the gears?
  5. Awesome.
  6. The Z-man and Booyah both work well. The Booyah are a little more durable. Never had any issues with hookups.
  7. The world is full of stupid, and I think I might be one of them. But seriously, I see the problem is a lack of humility, not intelligence.
  8. I'd say call and ask. Report back, if you hear.
  9. That's just the walleyeflage pattern. There's also the Evercast line. The Forge looks similar, though not quite the same. Can't find schematics for it. http://www.ardentree...ex.asp?catId=36
  10. Here's what I wanted to see, to get a better picture: http://www.ardentreels.com/files/uploads/s_series_manual.pdf Worm drive oscillation + Oversize AR roller bearing + Main gear bearings on both sides + Bearing supported spool + I'd say it's worth a look.
  11. I haven't seen one in person, but the feature list for the S2500 at $99 is impressive. That "fishoflage" coating is a decal dip, I believe. Not sure how that'll hold up. The 3 year warranty is a big deal, though. Everybody has their preferences, but if you get through the warranty period with it, it won't owe you a thing.
  12. Was that the weird planetary gear reel? I serviced a few a couple years ago - what a pain!
  13. I prefer a fast over x-fast for this. Length is a matter of taste, and doesn't make that much difference to me. The size of the bait will determine what power.
  14. Fish them where the fish are or where the bait fish are, more specifically, so all of the above. They are a great tool for shore fishing.
  15. Curly tail worms are so '93. Senkos are where it's at.
  16. I'd start with a 7' medium/fast or medium-heavy/fast spinning rig. Yes, spinning and casting rods differ in both the reel seat and line guides. For the reel, get one with a spare aluminum spool. Then you can fill one spool with 6-8# copoly or fluorocarbon line, and the other with 20# braid. That will cover most situations, save the heaviest of cover.
  17. I'm not friends with anyone from high school. My best, lifelong friends I met after high school. In high school, you have to be friends with your classmates because you have to be around them everyday. Afterwards, you can pick whomever you actually want to be friends with.
  18. 1) topwaters, 6' 2" Med/X-Fast 2) shallow cranks, traps 7' Med/Fast 3) small, light divers 7' Med/Moderate 4) larger divers 7' Med-heavy/Moderate 5) jerkbaits 6' 2" Med/X-Fast
  19. Great reel, built like a tank, silky smooth.
  20. Yep, any trolling motor I've bought didn't come with a plug.
  21. It's just something that comes with the forum software. If you click on someone's profile, there's a button to "add as a friend." I don't use it.
  22. I'd be looking at inshore rods, and a 4000 series reel loaded with 30-50# braid. I know quite a few people using this for frogging and heavy jig and worm.
  23. I'm insulin dependent. Just grab a chuck of fat about 4" away from your navel. I generally poke around gently to find a spot where I don't feel pain, and that way you avoid slight pinch.
  24. http://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/Features/UVB/uvb_radiation3.php This is about UVR and the oceans, but you get the idea: http://ies.jrc.ec.europa.eu/uploads/fileadmin/Documentation/Reports/Global_Vegetation_Monitoring/EUR_2006-2007/EUR_22217_EN.pdf
