  1. I forgot about blue moon. We have boulevard wheat here in KC also. One with an orange, the other with a lemon. Pabst Blue ribbon in a bottle is still tough to beat for quality to cost. It's the rapala of beer to the lucky craft of the hefe-mooner-bocken-weisers.
  2. Thanks for clarifying that it's not really a muddy water bait. I may have been wasting my time. Just an FYI munkin "tase" is spelled with a "z" as in taze. Tazer is a brand name for a controlled energy device, or what is commonly known as a tazer. Tazer is the name for one kind of device. It's kind of like kleenex to tissue, or band-aid to adhesive bandage, or coke to any kind of cola.
  3. What colors of hard jerkbait/slashbait do you guys throw in muddy or stained water? I'm loking for specifics i.e. a gold rapala x-rap.
  4. Feel free to explain it to everyone bass-brat.
  5. I'm with you guys. I had an accurist PT with the switch. It was neat in theory, that's about it.
  6. For the budget given the BPS crankin' stick is a good rod. I also have a premier glass rod. Both are nice. Go to the store and handle both of them since the handles are different. The lowest profile reels are arguably the revo's. The abu garcia max series that just came out is pretty similar in profile and will fit into your budget. Check the BPS link often after 2/27 for sales from the classic.
  7. Pabst Blue Ribbon in a bottle.
  8. This is a dead on assesment of the general populations attitude towards mental health. I recently received additional training on dealing with people with mental illness in crisis situations, and after 7 days of training, and site visits, and sit-downs with actual patients with a history of violence..............the only emergency mental health facility goes on "diversion" in KC. This means that there is literally nowhere for a first responder to take a mental health patient in crisis other than jail and sometimes the hospital, but that only applies if they state that they want to hurt themselves, not if they intend to hurt others. It's surprisingly not against the law to say that you just want to hurt people in general. If they have'nt done anything against the law then that person has to be left on the street. In this case, people just don't want to pay more taxes and the hospitals have no other way to fund themselves. Not excusing the actions of the parents or kids. Slomoes post just struck a chord.
  9. Holy red meat! I saw on T.V. that you get a free angeoplasty with every order.

Avid, I sat and typed a big long response to your post. I erased it to save the grief of having "experts on national security" dissect it. I guess I feel like this: some people will agree with it because they have faith in their goverment. Some people will not agree with it because that's trading freedoms for the illusion of safety. I personally am part of the latter.
  11. Nice boots. I'm not one for exotic skins, but they look great in the picture. I have a pair of Frye's that are about 15 years old. Hand me downs. Probably the single coolest pair of shoes that I own. Terribly uncomfortable.
  12. One more
  13. Black 05 GMC Canyon 4X4 crew cab
  14. This is the only statement in this thread that I'm gonna dis-agree with. Barry continued to dance around all over T.V. and do his sobbing interviews on T.V. and compare himself to hank aaron on T.V. That guy is one of a handful of people that make the bad part of sports everything it is today. We had a similar experience with George Brett that you had with Clemens. It's a bummer that people act that way when they get paid that much to play a game.
  15. the december or january issue (it says "20 best tips ever") of bassin' has an article on the different applications of both and tutorials on how to do them.
  16. As stated before. Don't tow with the tranny in overdrive. If you don't have a switch on the gearshift to shutoff overdrive, then shift to your highest gear (3rd maybe?) and run that on the highway. This saves a ton of wear on your engine.
  17. I had a set of Bridgestone dueler revo's. They are soft tread. The tread pattern is awfully cool and the tire itself is probably the best set of tires I've ever owned. I have some nitto terra grapplers now. The only reason I got rid of the revo's is because I up-sized significantly.
  18. What treble hooks are you'all using to replace the cheap ones on your lures? If you have one that you like a lot, why do you like it? I switched some of mine out with matzuo EWG type hooks. I've been happy with them. They don't seem to get thrown much.
  19. does anybody have any pro's or con's to weight-in on these? I'm considering getting some of these as spinnerbait trailer hooks.
  20. I've been a dipper for a good number of years. This thread had been like a history/economics/geography/special interest class all in one. Thanks fellas.
  21. After reading a pretty bad review of the new cabelas game, I was wondering if anyone knows what the best playstation fishing game is? If you have a favorite, why do you like it? sorry for the similar thread tkoglin, but I didn't want to hijack your post.
  22. I'm living vicariously through you man. I went into cabelas today and didn't spend a dollar. That's never, ever, happened before.
  23. Does anybody remember the old soft plastic pop-r? Whatever happened to those things?
