Casting Distances
Someone usually finds a post I made years ago and reposts it. It goes sort of like this... Go to your local football field and stand at the goal line. Make your best cast. I think you'll be surprised that what you thought was a mile, well, it's not quite as far as you thought it was...

Reevaluating High Reels
I would have sworn at first glance the title said reevaluating high HEELs. How disappointed I was.

Close Call...
I've only had this happen once. Humps and bumps in the road taken at speed that I couldn't see coming up. The truck just shook so bad in the rear that it popped off. Chains held and I was able to hook it up and continue.

2 Or 3 Bank Charger
I only do a two bank for my deep cycles. The starting/accessories battery rarely drains enough to warrant charging every time I go out. Not a lot of starts and only one Humminbird. Not a lot of drain.

Sun Hoods?
I wear gloves and a hood/full head covering while guiding. Long sleeves and long pants. I would never thought that I'd be comfortable that way but, I really am. Keeping the sun off your actual skin is everything. I have two different head covering and each have the pros and cons. I cannot keep my nose covered. I keep it free and use a sun screen that comes in a stick for my nose and cheek bones. Big brim hat... The sun screen that comes in a stick is really nice. No getting it all over your hands or over spray all over the boat. (and your eyes and up your nose)

Thoughts On Micro Guides
I had two rods with spiral wrapped micro guides. They would cast great. Pitching...not so great, not sure why. The custom builder that built one of them, said he re-wraps rods for bass fisherman often, with the same issue.

Wiring A Switch
Diagrams I've found on line mention a diode. It allows the lights to operate as NAV/ANC or just ANC. Knowing which is which is my quandry.
-
Wiring A Switch
I have the SPDT switch. The guy at boat supply said that if I was trying to use one terminal on the bow light and one terminal on the all around, the ON position would operate ONE or the OTHER. He said I needed the DPDT. How would the wiring diagram look using the SPDT and which to use. None of the switches I looked at have a diagram.

Wiring A Switch
Which terminal for which wire? I know center is the source. They are marked 3 2 1 6 5 4

Black. Energy drinks when fishing in the morning for one of the aforementioned reasons. Been there, done that, try to avoid it.

Wiring A Switch
I am rewiring a switch on a boat I just picked up. The previous owner had it wired incorrectly. I have two switches in my hand. A SPDT and a DPDT ON OFF ON toggle. I want one ON position to run both the bow navigation lights/all around light and the other ON position to run just the all around light at anchor. Which switch is correct and what is the wiring diagram?

So How Did You Meet Your Significant Other?
She was in college and worked part time at a CVS drug store. She worked with a girl at the CVS. (remember this part as we fast forward a bit) I was in the USAF and worked part time as security at an "alternative lifestyle" bar in SW DC. One night there was a big fight outside (remember this is SW DC) I was running outside to "partake" and this pretty girl steps in front of me, weapon drawn. I slowed down and explained that I worked here. She asked me to go back inside, which I of course, did. Six months later on a slow weeknight, this same girl comes in and sits at the bar and we stare at each other that "don't I know you stare" We realized where we had met. She apologized for pointing a gun at me. She used to be a bar tender at the same bar. We laughed. She invited me to her birthday party at a ranch, she said there'd be single girls there. I took a liking to a certain girl she had invited to the party to actually meet someone else. He didn't fare so well. We left together that night and it has been 29 years since. The girl she worked with at CVS became a cop and is the one that drew her weapon on me at the bar. Ah, good times...

Fishing Shoes For Wearing In The Boat?
I went from Crocs to Evair. I didn't want water proof leather because it can stay wet and chaff your feet. The Evair's dry like a Croc.

Recognize This?
10 year warranty you say...? I wonder if there's any "warranty money" built into that price for replacement? "Just send in $10 plus $5 for shipping and we'll replace it."

Chuck Norris Turns 74 Today
From ESPN callers: Chuck Norris has a bear skin rug. The bear isn't dead, it's just afraid to move. Chuck Norris is the reason Waldo is hiding. When Chuck Norris goes swimming, he doesn't get wet, the water gets Chuck Norris. When Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone, he had three missed calls from Chuck Norris. Chuck Norris doesn't call the wrong number, you pick up the wrong call.

Well...now It's Over!
My dad retired six years ago and my mom died a year ago. He is busier now than when he worked. I am sure you will find something to do. My uncle retired and moved to Florida. When he gets to feeling like he would like to work again, he goes down to the beach and forgets why he would possibly want to go back to work.
