Since Avid already went there, how about Marsha, you remember her from her website.

Best and worst TV Shows...
Here is my take on Bill Dance. Have you ever tried to teach a kid to fish? The number one and two rules are, make it fun and catch fish. (no matter what species) I think that Bill fishing in those private stock tanks are a teaching tool. He shows his viewers how and why and then catches fish. If he didn't catch fish then, his lesson would not be complete. While a lot of his viewers are not kids, they do run a vast range of experience and knowledge. I think everyone who watches can get something from his show. I too like the Linders. They take the education to another level.

I need a break (warning, vent)
I'm also 16 and that's my philosophy. I have time to fish, play music with the guys, go hunting whenever I want, go where I want, do what I want... And I still have all of my money! I'll worry about girls when I can afford it ;D BINGO The hardest thing (well, not the hardest, OH GROW UP) for guys in HS asking out girls is the fear of rejection. If I had any advice to give 30 years later it would be to just keep casting. Some you'll hook some you won't. Never hook any if you don't cast.

quantum reels
I am not exactly sure but, I believe there are laws determining how many years a product was on the market that coincides with the number of years that they must produce replacement parts. If it is only on the market for a short time, there are a set number of years for which they have to have parts available.

If you could fish only 1 brand of lipless crank?
Every year at a fishing flea market, I purchase some Sugar Shads. These aren't the ones that Luhr Jenson sells. These are the originals that were left over from when Luhr Jenson purchased the rights to the Sugar Shad. Pro fisherman Bernie Shultz is at this flea market with his wife every year. The story is that his wife is the daughter of the guy that sold the lures to Luhr Jenson. Any way, Original Sugar Shads in gold / black back.

2007 Bonehead Maneuvers
Last spring (still very cold) I launched at low tide on the Mattawoman Creek off the Potomac River. It was low (really low) tide. I proceeded down the creek channel in a 6 MPH zone. When I got to the shallow areas I noticed a boat or too parked on certain spots. I thought to myself, "hey, they must have found some fish." When I got out to the end of the speed limit zone. I opened it up and left the creek. When I came back in I came in on plane in what is usually 4-5 ft. The other boats were still fishing. I was about 150 yards from the closest boat. The water wasn't 4 -5 ft. It was about 8" deep. During the warmer months, the pads tell you where you should be. Without them all you can do is try to remember about where the pads usually are. In the mud bottom I went. I was very embarrassed think that everybody saw me get stuck. I trimmed up the motor, got out my paddle and started pulling my boat at the bow by digging into the mud and pulling. As I got myself unstuck, I got the big motor started again. As I got closer to the other boat, he was waving me away. My first thought was, "I'm staying far away as I can from your fishing spot you jerk, chill out." As I went by he hollered stay over there, we're stuck (I though they were parked on fish) I asked if I could help and he said no that they would wait for the tide to rise. He then said, "I saw you over by that other boat, is he still stuck?" (he was the one that I was embarrassed because he saw me get stuck) (I thought he was fishing also) He was on the way to help the other stuck boat and he got stuck. They had both been stuck the whole time.

pulling a bass boat
I have also heard that it is better to use an automatic to pull a trailer. It is because the automatic transmission is fluid cooled.

Bass Shoppe
I liked the old (joke there that I'll let go) Long Mike. He's the guy who says out loud what everybody else wants to say. Thanks Long Mike.

Pappys Baits
Yes, they work. I know Mike Jones (Pappy). He is a great guy and has some nice hand poured plastics. The "Pappy" reference, if you have never met Mike, is that he is the spitting image of Popeye's father Pappy from the cartoon. For you guys in PA or northern MD, you can meet Mike at the Dillsburg, PA bass fishing show / flea market this weekend in, you guessed it, Dillsburg, PA. Just look for Popeye's father. You can't miss him.

Favorite rod brand??
I have owned a number of different rods. I always come back to Castaway. I have friends that will handle more expensive rods, They inevitably pick up a Castaway and say, "I like this one."

No Reel Seat
Tennessee handle. It is held in place by a wrap or rings. I have two of them and they are very comfortable to fish with.

BPS trip
I work about 10 minutes from the BPS in Hanover MD (south of Baltimore) I have been in that store so many times I can help customers find where stuff is. At one time, I worked 3 minutes away and would go over every day at lunch. I have gotten relatively immune to having to buy every time. But, it takes practice, lots of practice. (and no money )

How did you find out about this site, and when you registered... (and a little about myself)
That young kid was Nick Barr. He still comes around every once in a while. He is a sponsored tournament angler now. He even has a boat sponsor. http://www.nickbarrfishing.com/ I think I remember Nick's name from back then. I think this might have been someone different. It might have been Will. Profile says he is 20 now.

Jaker Jig
Did any body see the jig modification in Bassmaster this month? The one where they take a screw spring type of trailer attachment and hook it to the jigs line tie. Then you attach your jig trailer to it and basically Texas rig it on the jig hook. Does anyone remember the Jaker Jig? It came without a weed guard. It had a barber lure spike coming out of the head. You put your trailer onto it and then Texas rigged the hook. I think the head was made of tin. I used them and they worked. Then they just disappeared.
