$30 reel
I agree and respect peoples advice on these boards. I have learned a ton. But I also don't know if I'm going to like baitcasting. Chances are I'm going to hate it at first. 8-) But I'm going to put in the time with it. If you boys want to send me 100 bucks or a good reel than by all means, go ahead. ;D But for right now....my budget and being leary about baitcasting doesn't make sense for me to go out and grab a nice shimano. Although if I do end up liking it and using baitcasters a lot (mainly a weightless plastics man) than I will make the jump come b-day time. And I will definately go with a Citica or Curado at that time. No hard feelings guys. Just trying to get you all to see my situation. Hey man, I understand COMPLETLEY!! I love my BC!!!! It gets frustrating when you get a bunch of BAD @$$ backlashes!!! If ya stick with it and practice a lot, you'll quickly see its advanteges over spinning. If you can't afford Shimanos right away...Don't sweat it. Just buy what you can afford.

What do you consider to be the Best Braided line out there? I know Fireline isn't braid, but it's close enough! BTW. You can vote for more than 1. Please keep it under 3. Thanx

$30 reel
That's true. But Shimano's (and other high end reels) will last longer and will preform better, and with less frustration. IMO you get what you pay for. and the higher end reels are worth it. ESPACIALLY SHIMANO!! BTW..........Shimano has some nice reels on the "lower end" I'd check them out.

Any spinning rod suggestions in the $100-$150 range?
FOR FUTURE REFERENCE: Fenwick's Techna Av's are pretty good!

Spiderwire Invisbraid...
Compared to that Fireline Crystal stuff, this stuff is INCREDIBLE. I couldn't STAND fireline. I haven't heard anything good about crystal. But FIRELINE SMOKE is line you can swear by, not at! ..............same for Stren Superbraid.

Spare spool
I like to have 2 spare spools for each spinning reel I bring. 1 with the # test I'm using on the other one. And the other one with a different # test. That way If conditions call for something different I can change it out easily. I usually don't change though. I like to find somthing that works and stick woth it. But like Popeye said it's cheap Insurance

Fix up truck or put towards newer truck?
FIX UP THE OLD ONE!!! You don't have very many miles on it. If it ain't broke don't fix it!!! Here's a good finacial plan. After you've fixed up your old truck and have recoverd form the expense. Start putting away money in another savings account each month. (about what you'd pay for a new truck.) That way when your old truck gives out, you'll have a good little bit of money to put down as a down payment. OR....... Sell the old one and buy a newER used one.
