Simple solution is to use a floating jerkbait when weeds detract from using suspending jerkbaits. Try it works much better & still gets bit.

I believe your Kistler is rated as moderate fast action. That & a lighter drag setting should work fine with braid. The smaller dia. braid will give you better depth than mono or fluoro. Try it.

I like the Winn grips best for constant reeling techniques like with crankbaits & lipless cranks.

From my personal experience this size bass fight the hardest.
