  1. Glad you are aboard.
  2. I run a Sears Die Hard PM-1 agm battery with 1150 CCA. Sears classifies it as a deep cycle battery. I use one as my primary battery for starting and all other functions except the trolling motor which runs the same batteries for a 24 volt trolling motor. I have a mercury 250 pro xs & a mercury 9.9 pro kicker & run a lowrance HDS 10 and live wells pumps & recirculation & two bilge pumps, lights etc. I have never had any issues with this battery after two full years since I installed it.
  3. Good choice. You didn't really need to photoshop either your musky or smallmouth as they look quite adequate.
  4. Obviously you haven't spent any time on Tackle Tour. LOL
  5. You do not have to tell me sorry. I know your level of expertise & respect it. Thanks for the explanation. I thought sometime was different regarding the AGM'S because they are capable of performing both functions unlike the flooded cell batteries.
  6. Not based on what his kids did.
  7. Way2slow I respect your opinion & knowledge but I disagree with the above statement for my application. Maybe this battery is an exception to the deep cycle theory
  8. Japan tackle, tackletour will give you lots of option s. After you get a grasp for what you want with costs get in touch with Robert or Mike at Hawgtech for better pricing and a direct connection for help and customer satisfaction. They are the reel deal and they both are good sticks that love bass fishing like you & me.
  9. Here is a list of guide material hardness. This list was complied by Mattman a custom rod builder of Otterrods. I'll also throw these hardness values out there... Stainless Steel (SS): 400 Chrome: 800-1000 Carbaloy: 1000 Aluminum Oxide: 1200-1400 Alconite : 1300-1500 NanoLite : 1800 Zirconia: 1000-1400 Zirconia PVD: 1600 SiC: 2200-2400
  10. They are not recoils. Instead they are stainless steel. It would depend upon the hardness of the hard chrome inserts. They should not damage any line unless they grooved or get worn from abrasive grit adhering to your line. Proprietary 316 Stainless Steel frames with industrial grade hard chrome inserts; Eliminates ring loss with increased sensitivity.
  11. I think you have it backwards. Short bill is for shallow & long bill is for deep. From Kalin's Scrounger description "The short bill is perfect for fishing shallow and working fast, while the medium bill can be worked at a range of speeds, and the long bill can be fished deeper. Whether you are new to fishing or an old hat, the Kalin’s Scrounger is a great choice that works on all species of gamefish."
  12. Brian I just liked your post so your green box says 12 instead of 11. Good is for positive likes. The stars under your profile name are based on post counts. I think that is right.
  13. After two months it's pretty much all mental now. Good job toughing it out.
  14. I second this opinion. They weigh 75lbs each in this size.
  15. Yea but it doesn't matter with the walleye unless you are over your limit. You are going to eat them anyway.
  16. Thanks for sharing your insight. I read Mr Perry's book way back when and he pretty much hit it on the nose. I even bought two different colors of his spoonplugs in the full series from small to large. I still have a few laying around in my boat garage. People that don't understand trolling often don't understand fishing or should I say catching.
  17. You have determined that some authorities should not be. I don't believe a steel hook will dissolve in a couple of months. Remove it & let mother nature take care of the healing process. If you can not remove it cut as close as you can to the flesh.
  18. I have been listening to guys complain about $15.00 lucky craft baits for at least 5-10 years. It is all relative to your interest & desire to improve your fishing sucess. I could care less about what you spend on your hobby as long as you can afford your expenditure. Custom baits cost custom prices. It is all market driven. Does anyone really care when a rich guy fires up his Lamborghini to go on a ride. If he can afford it who cares. There are a lot worse vices than spending money on your favorite hobby.
  19. Hope you have a quick & painless recovery so you can get back fishing.
  20. I didn't realize I was being politically insensitive with this post. Good thing you are on the job.
