  1. Kent I hope you noticed the reference to 4lb test.
  2. I vote for 1" past the back of the transom when the bow is tight to the front roller.
  3. Rice lake? Congrats to you both.
  4. Jeff I didn't know you fished for lunker smallies. Nice fish in your avatar man. Almost looks like an Erie giant.
  5. Nice outing . Congrats on 2nd place. Sorry the Ohio boys won.
  6. Wecome to the club, you will like it here. Thank you for your service.
  7. Shane J your name has come up a few times as well.
  8. Congrats on the new pb. Love pic #4 with your dog in the pic.
  9. My rule of thumb is to set my drag looser if I' m using treble hooks and to tighten my drag if I'm using a single hook bait. You can always loosen the drag as the fish comes to the boat. The better quality reels allow you to adjust the drag one click at a time.
  10. You had better rehab per the drs orders. Imagine hooking that 12-1 brownie & not being able to reel her in.
  11. You guys know I can't say anything yet. I will say they will not be CI4 models. One will me made of METal...and they will be low profile reels. Bantam1 Manufacturer Support
  12. He just changed his avatar back to let everyone know he is a real person.
  13. Obviously you are knot the problem. And the fact that you tied three different knots indicates you are knot the problem. The problem lies with the line choice 10lb Kanzen. I have experienced some problems with light weight Kanzen & Samurai in 10 & 20 lbs test. No problem with the same lines in 40 or 50lb test. The lower pound test seems to have low strength from shock. I have never had that problem with suffix performance braid or 832 which I use regularly in 10lb test for smallies. I'm not badmouthing any manufacture just stating my experience. I always use the palomar knot with light braid.
  14. I think you hit it on the head. New reel coming think METal.
  15. Way to get after them TS. My pond was a little too frothy today for fishing.
  16. Congrats on your new pb.
  17. Sounds like a bittersweet day. Nice bass.
  18. Go for it your instincts are correct. Since you are using a glass rod you have plenty of give in your system. The braid will get your baits down deeper & transmit better feel because of the no stretch. The braid also helps transmit if your bait picks up any weeds. Hooksets are easier with less drama. Just make sure you play around with your drag between light & medium until you have a chance to get in sync with the new tackle.
  19. Tackle warehouse would have given you that discount IF you would have called them .
  20. The huge swirl like a commode flush are always heart stoppers for me because I know that was a big fish.
  21. Felix you are setting a precedent for small bass with pictures. Are you catching them to use them for bait?
