Are Largemouth Bass Line Shy?
No problem, the whole series is really worth owning. Information that in depth about outdoor subjects is tough to find. I have been building a library of important information to pass on to my son incase anything would happen before he is grown.

Attaching Indoor/outdoor Carpeting To Jon Boat
I used outdoor carpet adheasive that I bought at the hardware store when I did my last boat, I plan to use it again. Just as above, carpet and boat side, press together. Its THICK, you gotta trowel it. I never had any of it let loose.

Are Largemouth Bass Line Shy?
Try this one some time. Get some different samples of line, a pair of goggles. Lay the line on the surface of a pool and look up at the line. I think in certain situations yes they can see it, others not so much. Ive seen the trout species reject a fly tied to 4x and hammer one tied to 6x. Those not in the know... 4x is 5lbs of break strength, 6x is 3lbs. Ive seen this happen both fishing dry flies and wet flies. At times when pressure is really heavy on C&R streams ive seen where the difference between 6x and 7x(2lbs) will change your day.

Ugly Stick Usage
I have that rod, I hate it, but its limber tip makes for a decent drop shot rod.

Eliminate Rusty Hooks
I get mine from the pharmacy. They come in round hard plastic cylinders in bulk prescription bottles. Just ask them to save them. I also grab any I see in a product, I put them inside trailcams to keep moisture out of them also.

Boat Question
Im not familar with that layout. Why not just bolt the seat to the top and still keep the compartment? Two of my storage areas in my tin are under the seats.

Minor Details - Tell Your Winning Story
Seems like we are always looking at the big picture, at least I am and sometimes miss out on one little key thing that can change an entire day. Id like to hear some little things you have done that changed your day in a big way. I was just thinking about how something like a warming or cooling trend in the spring can dictate where to find fish after reading a BASS article. One that I had personally happen was in muddy water. Everyone was running back into the coves to avoid the mud on the main lake and no one was catching fish. I was fishing the main lake and trying everything under the sun at blow downs. At one point I decided to change over to an all white spinnerbait and throw a big ol pig of a swimbait on the back. I then proceeded to chuck that bad boy back under the bushes overhanging the blow downs. Nothing would hit it. It wasnt until I figured out that I needed to start the blades after hitting my target and immediately kill the action letting it fall that I started to hook up. After that point I was putting fish in the boat on trees that I couldnt buy a bite on before, of course, it was the day I blew up my starter also and couldnt get back to the dock lol. Whats a minor detail or change you made on the fly that changed your entire day?

Let My Stupidity Be Your Lesson
It probably wouldnt be a bad idea to keep a way to start fire in the boat also. A cotton ball rubbed with vasolene will burn for a solid 10 mins by itself after lit, its the perfect way to get almost any tinder going, I use it in the woods. Just prepare a couple, stick them in a bag, then stick that bag in another bag with a box of matches and a lighter. Another option is a flare, a flare burns very hot and if you cant get something lit with a flare you were meant to freeze. I carry 3 different ways to start fire, thinking about it, I guess its time to do it on the boat also. I know in my boat, if I were far enough in certain lakes, it would be over an hour till I got back to a dock. Getting to the bank and making a fire would be much much faster. If youre ever out and havent taken any of these precautions some other things that will burn hot... Hand Sanitizer - pure alcohol Motor Oil - 2 stroke or 4 Stroke Pine Sap

Soft Plastic Storage
Go to the dollar store and look for the plastic box with a clip lid about the size of a shoe box. I keep all mine in that.

Hunting Boots
Get yourself a good hiker, then buy a hotmoc or arctic shield boot cover with a hand warmer in it. You will end your cold feet. Your feet are likely sweating, wear wool socks, cover your bare foot in antiperspirant before putting the socks on. I have three different boots for all the seasonal changes but if I had to pick one, it would be a hiker with a hotmoc and activated hand warmers.

Tell Me About Some Known Outboard Issues.
I replaced one transom in an aluminum and helped do one in a glass. I swore then, never again. When I bought my current boat, looking at boats that was the first question I had. One guy had me drive 1.5 hours to look at his boat that "has a perfect transom" I got there, reached my hand back under the deck, looked at him and said... have fun with your perfect transom and started walking to the car. He quickly knocked a $1000 off his price and I just kept walkn. Had enough of that.
