  1. Its not big enough for a topo, google earth with usgs plugn shows very little contor changes Google earth and the plugin are both free
  2. Whats down there is a road
  3. Ill look into that big bass man. I just ordered a spool of 10lb abrazx
  4. love that 2.5 i dont even bother with the 1.5 most times because even a 8" perch will try to eat a 2.5
  5. Positive they are bass, I am catching them right now on of ALL things a hair jig. Lake had 85 boats on it the other night at 8pm and its not that large, probably part of the reason a hair jig works. They are certainly not all bass but theres bass on this piece of structure. Im going to get some 10 and put it on the crankn rod to see what happens.
  6. I dont think his sponsors are going anywhere, hes all over everything. If BASS wont let him in the Elites I am sure he will be just fine in FLW.
  7. Full Moon = Just like deer hunting = Late morning to mid day bite
  8. My problem with 10 isnt the break strength, ive landed bigger fish on much smaller line. I just took 20lb braid off this setup because it was digging into the spool everytime I set the hook, with mono backing and cranked on tight ten would be even worse id imagine unless theres another secret I am missing.
  9. I just had some smaller flutters show up because of this. I was throwing a 5" SK sexy spoon but these fish in this lake wont hit it.
  10. Im marking fish in 25+ ft of water and cannot for the life of me get a crank down there. Ive not yet gone to something as large as a 10xd. Ive tried about every other "deep" bait on the market from hot lips express(pre rapala), dd22 to 6xds. I know I can throw other stuff to get down there but I have been smashn fish on cranks when I can get it to them. Short of waiting out a countdown or something of that nature is there a good crank that will sink that can get me down there? I really dont wanna try the carolina rig crankbait but I am about to try anything. Im throwing these cranks on 14lb mono and would go to 10 but I am affraid of it dign in my spool and Im not fortunate enough to own a 51 or a pixy but I might just break down and buy one before next season if thats the only solution.
  11. Only if you financially cant afford an attorney. If you have a steady income, nope.
  12. You could get multiple scales from the same manufacturer. Weigh a known weight and see how much each is off. Then do a MLF style weigh it as you catch it but you would have to draw for partners so that the guy in the boat with you isnt your buddy.
  13. go to a river or creek with smallmouth in it, fish below the riffle
  14. Define evening. Im talking fish not even beginning to get going until 11pm at the earliest.
  15. I know it happens, because I see it happen weekly. Maybe I just dont have it in me to wait them out for that long. If those fish dont turn on in two hours and I dont think to myself... theyre gonna turn on at x hour then I am gone.
  16. Jeff is it always the same spots, like you can say with certainty that spot a is going to have boat b sitting on it every time they fish the tournament. Some of these guys are so predictable its insane. On one hand I cant blame them but to wait for a fifteen minute bite all day long. I thought we were fishing not hunting whitetails.
  17. fish on my lake arent turning on till WELL after dark
  18. honestly, i think sayers sucks
  19. Do you all fish any lakes where certain holes are more or less "going to make the tournament"? My local lake its almost with certainty that if you fish in certain holes you will be in the top three. Problem is, these holes dont turn on at the same time every day and when they do turn on they might fish for a half an hour and then its over. This lake only has a select few of these holes that ALWAYS hold fish. The same guys week after week camp right on them making it so you never have a chance to figure out that pattern let alone even try to fish it. Ive never seen another lake like this and it has my beating my head. I was marking hundreds of bass on one yesterday, i fished it for four hours before I had enough and left. Fifteen mins after I left the buddy I was sharing the hole with said they turned on. He had only been there a half hour when I was there four so he happened to hit the bite at just the right time.
  20. Whos to say the fish isnt dead because its stuffed full of tungsten?
  21. revised due to complaints
  22. I would argue that one till the end. If a fish is dead who knows what could be done to make its weight
  23. I was in the top 100 till I got a major hit on the last two events, guys just fell off the map
  24. I would look for a single stage urethane clear coat with the matching reducer and activator. A quart in your application would last a LONG time. However, I dont know how that will stand up to bouncing off of rocks. Maybe take expoxy, thin it, use a really cheap gun with a 1.8 or bigger tip and clear coat them in mass.
