Fished Sayers Again - 5-29
Im a pretty good judge of character, he didnt seem like a dirtball so I figured worst case scenerio id drop him back off. We had a good time though, he sent me a facebook friend request this morning and had a ton of pics from being out on the boat, he must have really enjoyed himself so Im glad he was brave enough to ask. He just lucked out that I am pretty easy going.

Buying My First Rifle
It shoots a 250 grain shockwave, plenty of knock down. I dont know if I would hunt a grizz with it without a backup but a black bear is no issue. I can go up to 350 grains.

Fished Sayers Again - 5-29
Got to the ramp and started prepping the boat. As I was doing so a guy close to my age came over and started talking about fishing. Then, something happened thats never happened before. He politely asked if anyone was joining me and if not would I be interested in having a rider! I told him to throw his stuff in the boat. We fished most of the evening and I made a new friend thats local. He actually outished me, while I was playing with different setups he threw a tube all night. He landed 4, lost one and I only had 2 all night, it was ok with me cause he was extremely pumped to be out on a bass boat. Water temp: 70 Bass Stage: Seems to me they are post spawn and starting to move back out but some are still on beds, I couldnt see any visible beds though Weather: Warm(85), SW wind was blowing pretty good until dusk Baits: Tubes, Cranks, Spinnerbaits Locations: Rip Rap, Points, Spawning Flats in the Poles I tried a little topwater too throwing a cavitron and a sammy with no takers.

Buying My First Rifle
I personally have owned quite a few rifles over the years and settled on two. A .243 and an inline .50cal muzzleloader. Im more of a one shot one kill type of guy than lay lead. The .50 opens a world of opportunity that isnt there with center fire rifles. Its also the most beautiful gun I have ever owned... cva kodiak pro 209 in laminate with stainless, picture below. I traded a gun I paid much less for for this gun with a nikon bdc scope. When I say it opens opportunities.... you cant use center fire rifles in certain states, theres special seasons in others, certain areas of certain states dont allow center fire due to high populations. I wanted a gun I could take anywhere that would handle anything from a whitetail to a bear. http://www.gunsamerica.com/UserImages/113036/929609888/wm_1592768.jpg

Centre County Bassmasters / Pfbc Sayers Project
I had to edit my post, on a north facing map its east I originally said west. You can see the cosway in the back where one of our guys is pushing the box off. Almost every cove in this lake has man made stuff.

Those boxes are on the east side of the bridge headed into the creek channel that parallels the rip rap. Best i can do for ya, you can see them in the water.

Centrifugal Or Magnetic Brakes...... Choose One!
As I understand it they are two different systems. Centrifugal effecting spool speed at the start of the spool while magnetic controlling the spool speed as it slows. How can they be compared?

Advice For First Time Bass Boat Buyer?
I fish tournaments out of my 17' tracker with a 25hp on Raystown. With me in it, its MUCH slower than everyone else in my club. I can hit 25 on a good day. After what I experienced in NY over the weekend my next boat will definitely be glass. Might keep mine if I have the space but I doubt it. When it gets rough on some lakes, it gets ROUGH. As far as costs, maintence, look through the topics in this section, weve discussed it a lot.

Chautauqua Report
We wanted to get the fish in the boat but it was massive, his bass net wouldnt even hold 1/3 of the fish lol. Only reason he was able to land it as you can see was the fish only had the jerkbait in its mouth, thats only 14lb mono.

The Difference A Quality Reel Makes.
I own both, I think the side plates arent as "solid" the release system on the plate is not the same but other than that I love it. I tore mine apart before ever fishing and full serviced it including bearings and drag washers. I was told by many, including people on here that if you buy the bionic on a combo its not the same as buying it as a stand alone reel. I bought mine as just the reel. Additionally, I own mostly daiwas except these two reels and with the dual brake system its a dream to manage these compared to a daiwa for someone whos still learning.

Can I Get Some Opinions On An Occurence At The Lake?
Put a hunting trail camera inside your car/truck facing the rear window on a tripod in the back seat , it wont fire a flash during daylight. At night if it fires and they break your window your alarm goes off!

The Difference A Quality Reel Makes.
Wait till that new bionic goes on sale and grab one of those. At $60 its an amazing reel. I paired it with one of those steals on the walmart abu vendetta and its one of my favorite combos, all under $100. Thats the key, you have to know a good deal when you see one to get better stuff at affordable prices. You almost have to plan for the sales, like knowing when the classic happens that crazy things will happen at tackle places.

Chautauqua Report
Only this one, I was going to take my good canon, forgot it in my boat as my starter bracket was being fixed along with my kodak zx3 video cam. Snapped this with his phone.
