  1. If you absolutely have to sand I would use 1600 or 2000 and wet sand it.
  2. I was talking about a "fanny pack" lol
  3. Powerteam... All ProPack's... 3.5 Texas Rig Jig - Green Pumpkin/Scupper Swirl 3.6" Hammer Shad - Perl 4.5" Grub - Green Pumpkin/Light Blue Swirl 5" Sick Stick - Green Pumpkin 5 Mustad with Owner Keeper - 8/0 hooks
  4. Sunday when I got there at 7am I was the third bass boat. When I left I counted over 20
  5. I have all of their structure in my lowrance and then some. We are supposed to be doing a structure project with them in the next couple of weeks. The problem with sayers is the freezing and drawing down. #1 - It kills all the vegetation #2 - anything between shore line and 10ft deep eventually gets destroyed from ice. Ice is a powerful force Dont be surprised if you get a skunk on sayers. Its bound to happen at some point. State biologist told me its the most overfished lake in PA. I live about 5 mins from it so I get to see it often.
  6. Little boy asks dad.... Boy: Where do babies come from Father: Storks of course Boy: You f****d a stork?
  7. They were hitting the jerkbaits on the pause.
  8. Theyre starting to stage to spawn so theyre traveling the creek channels. The upper part of the lake above the bridge is a good 3 to 4 degrees cooler than below it. If your boater is familiar with the lake he will know the creek channels, theyre not up up yet because the lake is still not full pool. They better hurry up with that though because its gonna be spawn pretty directly with that temp being 61 on a good warm day. Fish the creek channels up into the coves, fish the points, submerged roads and the "mountain side". Smallies are still in the lake too, they have not moved into the bald eagle yet. Be careful also above the bridge, theres a lot of stuff floating in the lake right now thats coming off the bank as it goes up. I might fish it again this week.
  9. Last I checked I had no control over what bites the lure. Ive caught bass on lures bigger than the bass itself. I prefer the odds, catch as many fish as you possibly can and make your best 5.
  10. But a 14" bass in comparison is much larger overall. A shad, while tall is very skinny.
  11. I think we should all contact strike king and get you a new hat
  12. Fish are finally starting to turn on in central pa. My buddy in the back outfished me big time. They were on the jerkbaits in the morning. My friend who was not on my boat fished saturday and did well on a swim jig. My buddy in my boat managed a tournament limit, nothing huge though. I brought one fish in(figuratively speaking, bass is out in PA). It was a fight all morning long for me. The boat is having fuel issues at the moment and then the wind came, when it came it came big time. The tracker took it pretty well considering we had whitecaps on some waves. Really need a recessed TM tray, my back hates me today.
  13. That pic just doesnt add up to me. Why could they only eat a 12" shad but a 14" bass?
  14. On a related note. I am due for new side bunks. I am going to make them out of the composite decking materials you can buy. Its gotta be just as slick.
  15. I just put 6 of them on my trailer. It was worth it for sure. Keep in mind you dont need to do the first foot or so because its in the water. My boat is aluminum and with my small motor I could not over power the carpet to get back on the trailer once it stuck. I added those pads and I can go right to the roller. Bought mine on ebay, theyre made out of starboard. I paid like $35 shipped for 6 -10" peices pre drilled. Installed at the launch in 10 mins.
  16. Option 2... get a replacement wire.
  17. I had that happen on a trailer connector on my last vehicle. If I remember correctly you can get electrical terminal cleaner from the hardware store. I also then took a 17 cal wire brush and a fly tying pick to the metal and cleaned it up. Maybe a dental tool?
  18. I just bought $70 worth of new fuel line this morning, add that to my total. I still need to add a leaner seat as well. The more I get this boat the way it should be the more the thought of selling it leaves my mind. I just wish I had a little more power so maybe a repower will happen instead of a sale. I dont think I could ever get the price I would expect out of it. As it stands today I wouldnt be able to let it go for less than $5500 and its a 92, simply not gonna happen.
  19. I would not put a glass boat behind that. I have a hard enough time towing my 17' tracker with a v6.
  20. My tournament ruler I backed with velcro. I glued the corrisponding side to the side of the boat so when I need it I can just rip it off. I know its kinda goofy lookn but a hip pack holds tools well.
  21. One option I didnt see mentioned was using a strait shank hook either. I sometimes fish a strait shank #6 in my drop shot. Never lost a fish on it yet.
  22. I have a shad crankbait thats a monster. Its not a deep diver though, I bought it about 10 years ago. I should sell it to someone who fishes for stripers because with its size I have never had a bass look at it. Anyone interested in it can send me a PM and we can work something out. Its at least 6" long and is shallow running/floating. If it can hit 10ft I would be surprised.
  23. Ill have to pay attention tomorrow. Lately I have been T-rigging them but I am putting the bullet weight inside the tube before t-rigging essentially trapping it internal to the tube. My waters are either rock or wood, add current and youre stuck before you hop it once.
