  1. So that video clacker buzz got me dign on the net and I found out you can do the same thing in his video with a swivel. I dont wanna post a link on the open forum to another forum. If you need to see this contact me. Its exactly like the keeper shown above just a swivel!
  2. That fish has been eating craws, red lips
  3. define your price point. ive had house rods and of them all i only ever liked one and it was a fly rod.
  4. I would throw a-rigs and swimbaits on it.
  5. Small natural lakes likely wont tell you much. I use them on man made reservoirs which show me things like old ponds, roads, creek channels, river channels, humps.... If you cant use it for that you can use things like time of day where you can see what little pockets are getting sun first or getting dark last. Sometimes you can see where mud lines form, if they draw them down you can see stuff that you cant see at normal pool.
  6. Most under used resource.... Google Earth with USGS Topo Layers

Thats not bad luck thats tough fishing. I had a day two weeks ago where... I ripped my boat cover end to end down the middle at the launch Stepped in dog crap and tracked it all through my boat before I noticed Motor wouldnt start for 15 mins Lost the keys to the hitch lock and had to cut it off Smacked my head on the boat and gashed it open Thats bad luck
  8. 11" isnt much, this is going to be a sitting seat, not a stand/lean
  9. For $300 on a trailer that second one might work out great. Id say no more than two guys, yes a trolling motor only will work on some lakes. It should be stable enough to stand up in , its going to be a little tippy but it wont be undoable. Not sure how titling works in that state, check the details with having only a bill of sale.
  10. Lots of articles on this site about it, do a little searching. The only thing certain is that nothing is certain. Try maybe a white bait that you can see and just keep tickn em off.
  11. Holding the fish out in front of you 3 feet is not the same as zooming on a subject. People do the same thing with bucks suddonly that little 60" deer looks like it makes P&Y. Its not like its some big secret or people just figured this out. Its been known about for years. Ive heard enough times, "hold it out makes it look bigger". If it was all about the fish the person wouldnt be in the picture at all besides some hands. Trout fisherman are the worst about this next to us archery hunters. They not only hold it out ten feet they **** it 60 degrees sideways so it looks like its six feet long too.
  12. 100? What hatchery?
  13. Im in your area right now visiting family... Wilkes Barre. I need to bring my boat up here sometime, sooooo much water.
  14. My guess is that a good cleaning and reassembly that this issue would go away. I tear every new reel I buy apart before I ever fish it. My buddy said the new BPS Bionic had this issue and DO NOT BUY ONE. I bought one anyhow and I am glad I did. Of course, he knows nothing about the inside of his reels.
  15. I think being versatile can hurt you at times as well. There comes a point where you know so much about different things that you second guess yourself. You might be able to catch them on x but youre convinced if you change to y that you will do better. The guy who only throws cranks and texas rig worms doesnt have that problem. His confidence in two baits is enough that he will bring in a bag. His bag might not be as big as the guy who can overcome the overload but he will be the dude who always has five.
  16. Sounds like a good plan. If they're not on beds look for them to drop back into the deep main lake points
  17. With my clear box system I keep craw/creatures in one, swimbaits/flukes in another and a binder with worms/lizards/grubs. The way you keep your boat organized is making it a priority to put it back at the end of the day. It only takes a minute with my system. They dont all have to be grouped by type. I know that in that box somewhere ill find a conviction craw or a 4" flipn tube within its own glad pull zipper bag labeled in permanent marker.
  18. We are visiting family so I decided to take a gamble being in the city that they would have the V1. They did but it was marked at $40. Took me almost an hour to get them to honor the price but I brought one home. Im going to pair it with a bass pro bionic reel and make it a topwater rod. The store had out sales fliers for sales that being the 28th, they didnt have one copy of this flier in the store.
  19. Dont let anyone tell you that SI isnt valuable. The more I think about it, the more I see it, the more I read about it... it has set the fishing world on fire. It gives you the ability to see exactly whats down there. I go by a tree, I dont know if a fish is on it, someone goes by with SI and they know whether to even bother stopping. In tournament fishing that is probably THE most valuable tool you can have.
  20. clear plastic shoe boxes with locking lids
  21. Those ran great but wont start ads are usually carb issues. If you find the right one tell them up front that if they dont have the money you will take it out of the final sale price to hear it run. If theyre not cool with that then walk. The agreement has to also be that if it doesnt run after the work they pay you what you paid for to give it a shot. Some people have a boat, wanna sell it but dont have money to figure out whats wrong. Compression tests dont lie. All in all I would say just keep looking, its not easy. Trackers are very sought after because they are affordable. If your wife thinks a new pt16 is expensive you should show her some of the real bass boat prices.
  22. I dont know that Ehrler is versatile he just knows where to go and he has massive amounts of patience. He will deadstick a senko for five mins if he has too. Recently in one of his interviews he pretty much stated that without the electronics no way he couldve won.
  23. Ive been at the fly game almost 20 years now. This is just my perspective after fishing 100+ days a year for multiple species for almost 10 years strait with a fly rod. If I was just going to start I would swing for the fence. I would not buy a traditional rod. I would buy a spey rod. Youll be able to cast on moving water half way across the river, a traditional rod wont do that. To me when you start getting upwards of 8wts you are looking at massive fish and by massive I am talking 30lb+ leaping flying salmon in heavy current. Ive taken a 4 wt steelhead fishing and effectively used it better than guys throwing 6 or 8's but thats because I know how to use side pressure to my advantage. I would either buy the switch or buy the adjustable wrench of fly rods, a 5wt which will let you fish for everything from blue gills to 10lb steelhead.
  24. The carpet doesnt always match the drapes
