Should We Be Compensating At The Pump For E10?
I understand high compression vs low compression and what the fuels do for it, most motors we run also dont have the ability to advance the timing as needed. OO my club had this same discussion at the dock last night and someone said that exact thing. What I was thinking however is that yes as you go up in octane traditionally it does burn slower which so does e10. 87 today is not the same 87 as when my motor was designed youre artificially raising the octane with the introduction of e10 which doesnt output the same amount of energy even with the increase in octane. We all know e10 also has water issues and breaks down much much quicker. I was running 89 in mine, switched to 87 and my cold starts really changed big time, I personally am going back to 89. I cant see how this theory of mine is incorrect but it very well could be that it is incorrect.

Centre County Bassmasters / Pfbc Sayers Project
Center County Bassmasters in combination with the PA Fish & Boat Commission & DCNR last night put 20 new man made structure boxes into Sayers Dam. The commission and DCNR brought the materials, the club built the boxes and then took them out on commission boats and offloaded them into the lake. Each box is roughly 4'x4'x4' with 6 cinder blocks inside. The lake also received a lot of stone this winter redoing a few shorelines near the beach. There are plans in the future to drop trees as well. This is a three year project that will continue to have work done. I will add some pictures later.

Should We Be Compensating At The Pump For E10?
correct, which I do use also. ethenol however burns slower and doesnt produce as much energy as gasoline. hence 87 isnt 87 anymore or do they already compensate for it during blending?

Should We Be Compensating At The Pump For E10?
Got to thinking and doing a little reading since I have been having ignition issues. Basically due to the reduced rate of burn of ethenol vs strait gasolene Im wondering if I should step it up. The motor calls for 87, but that 87 was pre e10. With e10 in there 89 would be essentially like running 87. Right or wrong?

Absolute Worst Day.
I once lost a combo on the first cast after I had just purchased it. Was fishing with a girl and focusing on her while bait fishing, looked back just as it went across the lake with a fish. Still had the reciept in my pocket.

First Tournament Help...
Theyre on the jerkbait bite here for sure but they will be on beds in the next couple of days. Water changed that drastically. If you share a livewell you better have a marker system Know the legal limit on the lake including size, it can change in places month to month. If you have 5 rods, tie on five things you think are going to work, losing time changing out lures will kill you over the course of a day. If they dont provide a weigh bag you will need your own. Some tournaments require you to show proof of insurance with minimum amounts especially if youre the boater.

Navionics Chip, What Exactly Would I Be Getting?
On my chip I did get extras in my home lake I wouldnt have had like creek channels, the main channel, stumps below the surface that I confirmed at lower level. Also, on a recent trip to another lake I had icons that gave me more information about the lake such as how the shad act and what not. Pretty cool.

Tradesman In Need
I have my background in IT from networking to computer programming and two years ago was out of work for an entire year. I always envied those who got laid off and their ability to hunt and fish every day. That is till it happened, it all gets pretty boring after doing it all day every day.

Why Do You Bass Fish?
Same reason I bow hunt and hunt turkeys. Its like a giant chess game. You make a move, they make a move. Just when you think you have seen it all something changes. The desire for me is in the details. Its the reason I chose my profession in computers as well. I like to figure out problems. Im very much the type of person that I need to know every detail about what I am into. Take hunting for example. I had to find the best stand(lone wolf) with the best seat(hunt comfort) with the best transport system(eberlestock x2) and then take it another notch and figure out how to make it not make a sound. I did this because I dont hunt deer like most people. I go out, I find where they bed and I intrude while most sit back and wait. It takes mistakes along the way to be great at anything but there does come a point when you are OCD as much as I am about the outdoors that you think whats next. Ive already killed whitetails with a bow for years. I already mastered fly fishing and fly tying. Ive trained a gun dog that at 12 months would make other peoples dogs look like they have no training. The thing about bass fishing is theres ALWAYS something new, always new water, always new baits, always new weather. Its never the same.

Would I Be Better Off??
You can put a cheaper daiwa reel on a lightening shock rod for under $60 and keep your baitcasters. My guess is those reels could toss those baits with the right cleaning and brake settings.

Drop Shot Rods...
As stated you need a forgiving tip. The reason for this is the drop shot is a light line presentation, at least where the bait is concerned. You can over power that really fast when a fish surges.
