Im sorry for asking a question that requires some actual thought or input on the subject. Ill stick to asking whether or not you can tell me what crankbait I should buy, thats always interesting.

Its nothing at all like asking why a black bear is black. I asked why red lures work based on the fact I have never seen a red one that wasnt cooked and the theory of color under the surface of water. Yes I have seen diet affect those things eating them, hence the reference to trout eating scuds and turning orange. The scud doesnt turn orange until he is dead,

  9. Are they both marine? One might be made for regular trailers. You can go get marine grease at walmart for $3 a tube. Its what I run in mine.

What are they eating, things like scuds or is it dying vegitation? I know scuds due to the kerotine in them will turn trout flesh orange.

Ive never dug them out in early spring to see them. Im used to the color on most of my craws being between a very light olive to almost black.

I understand it doesnt vanish it bascially becomes a shade of gray. If its about contrast and we know it turns gray why not just make them gray to start with?

Id like to know your thoughts on the color red. I was thinking about this last night. I own some red, they do work but for what reason I am not sure. #1 - Its well known that the color red is lost at a depth of about one foot deep #2 - Although I have cooked a crawfish and they turn red I have never seen one turn red in the wild. I have also never seen a red species of prey fish. Why does this color work?
  15. Color or Visibility I fish lakes that range from red when theyre mud to lakes that are so tannic they are almost black.
  16. I mistyped that, its 1oz to 24oz of water and yeah its made for animals and yards specifically, not hunters lol. I posted that original formula on a national hunting forum years ago and I still to this day get pm's about it.
  17. px r... this guy is jellous

  19. You are not supposed to burn a tick, they will vomit in your body and then thats when you get in trouble.
  20. I go to tractor supply. In the horse section I buy a product called permethrin 10. I mix that 1oz to 8oz of water in a spray bottle. Shake it up, spray it on all my outdoor clothes and then let it dry. Its good for about 10 washings and the bottle is actually enough to make at least a gallon mixed. Its mandatory here, I hunt turkeys and mushrooms. You go in the woods without it and youre leaving with ticks. With my mix, nothing. Im actually doing my clothes tonight, saturday opens the turkey season.
  21. I dont just use topo I use google earth and structure maps as well. Theres a lot of man made structure out there and you can find it on maps put out by the state most times. I can show you a topo map of a lake I fish and point to a spot and ask you whats there. Youll say... nothing, but I know theres 40+ vertical planks under that spot put there by the army corp
  22. They would walk all over the locals then take a victory lap. No if ands or buts. The local would absolutely HAVE TO HAVE all the features the pros boat has and know how to use it to stand a chance. Im about the only guy in my club that doesnt have side scan and believe me, its apparent.
  23. I just bought a really awesome cover from a company on ebay shipped to my house brand new for $100. Its even made of canvas and has a built in engine cover. PM me and I can give you the sellers name.
