1989 Skeeter For $3300, Worth It??
No its nothing like a used car because when you get a bad motor you have a pile of garbage and its ridiculous the cost of some parts. $400 powerpacks, rebuilt power heads, bad fuel pumps, carbs(likely) all out of whack and needing rebuilt. Just tell yourself you WILL spend money on this motor, no doubt about it. A 150 sucks gas and so does a 200 when I look at my current boat vs partners its unreal the difference. I can only go 25 but my 13 gallon tank will last me a month. His 150 will suck up a 1/2 a tank a day and its like $100 to fill it.

Finally Got My Boat!!
Youre doing really well so a word of advice from a younger dad(32) When you start to think you want a long term relationship I want you to walk out and hook your boat up to your truck. After you do, drive it to the best lake you can think of. Get out of the cab and walk 20 yards, stand back and look. Now close your eyes and say "poof" cause even if you get to keep it you wont have the time you WANT to be able to use it like you do now. Enjoy it, dont short change yourself like many young men worrying about women.

Centre County Bassmasters / Pfbc Sayers Project
Wood is not pressure treated. I think they expect 5 years at minimum but it depends on the ice.

Painting Bass Boat
I assume it does being that this started on car forums and they use lots of fiberglass. Still, id pay the extra $7. I did some more reading on it again today as I have been looking at this for awhile. I would suggest also that you forgo the mention of thinning it with mineral spirits because it leads to a really long drying period. I would buy an automotive enamel reducer. Ive actually found a place on the bay I can get the paint thats automotive, the correct reducer and a hardener for $50 a quart so thats the route I am going to go. I plan to spray my motor hood at the same time as it needs some paint work and new decals. Looked into so much that I saw guys buying tractor paints from tractor supply and thinning it with gasoline. At bare minimum I want it to dry properly.

Also keep in mind that light colors hide imperfections. White no matter how you spray it will look better than black if you have any dings in the boat.

Youre going to thin it no matter what. How big is the boat? Takes roughly a gallon to do an entire car with conventional car paints. Youll thin it, add hardener and spray it. Id spray as many light coats as possible rather than try to put it on thick. Its not going to be a one day deal. To do it in one day you need an auto type paint that will flash dry almost instantly based on temps(activator) The gun is controllable, you control the amount of air and the amount of paint coming out of it at the same time with different dials on the gun. Like I said, id only mix what I need to shoot in one shot, clean the gun, let it dry a couple hours, shoot the next coat. You dont know if you dont try, its not rocket science, they teach it in vocational school lol. If you wanna practice find a junk metal cabinet or car door and see what happens.

Painting Bass Boat
If I were you and doing an entire boat, IF you have a compressor and gun.... I would check eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeebay and search for enamel paint kit You can get a full gallon kit with the reducer, hardener and paint in WAY more colors than rustoleum. Sure its going to cost you $80 for the kit but I can almost bet its going to look A LOT better.

Painting Bass Boat
word of caution, rustoleum doesnt have UV protection, the base stuff you buy at walmart anyhow. They DO make a paint called Topside thats a marine paint which has UV protection, its about double the cost.

I am doing my trailer soon, although I have full intentions on spraying it via HVLP rather than roll it on, im also going to introduce some enamel hardener into the mix.

2013 Roadtrip! You're Invited!
We can make plans for next year if we pick a date. I have found that it takes me at least a year to plan an out of state hunting trip, I cant see how a fishing trip would be any different. As far as splitting the cost, I would have to meet someone from here. I listened to my friends cry about hunting in pa for the last fifteen years. Last year I put together a trip to ohio for $600 including tags, lodging, food and gas. Out of all of my good hunting buddies, the ones who complain the loudest not one went, with a YEAR of time to plan for it. Heck I didnt even ask them to contribute to planning or anything, just show up. So, I know better now, when I go to Iowa in 2015, ill be a lone dog then too unless I find someone on a forum with points who wants to join. Im not waiting my life away for people with no ambition.

Can't Seem To Find Fish
Id imagine your water is a week or two behind ours, try jerkbaits on main points that intersect with creek channels running into the main channel. If said point and channel is on the north side of the lake all the better!

Lowarance/aluminum Help
Could move two up front dedicated to 24v for just the tm and then have your two 12s in the back for accessories/crankn. Of course, you would need a four bank charger and some good wire to get it to the front in order to run a single charger, that or two seperate two bank chargers hooked up to a power strip. Both of those options sound like a lot of work. I know its a "no no" to run your electronics off your tm battery but I do it in mine with no issues and I have a tracker 17 pro. You could divide the systems between the crankn battery and tm battery if it makes you feel better. I dont run my big motor nearly enough to charge my battery and with my crankn battery being a group 27 I would rather have no fish finders and no tm power than not be able to crank my motor.

Fast Moving River
Another thing to consider, the water on the top is moving faster than the water at the bottom. Ive recommended this video on here before http://www.underwateroz.com/pg3_feeding_lies.html Check out the sample video on that page

Should We Be Compensating At The Pump For E10?
My engine is a 92, carbed none the less and doesnt have the ability to compensate for it on the fly. I know my 08 cbr600rr could compensate for running 87 even though it was a high compression, I personally never took it below 93 and from selling ducati had shell gas on the brain.

Should We Be Compensating At The Pump For E10?
Thanks to e10, I had to order a new fuel pump rebuild kit yesterday because it ate my check valves.

2013 Roadtrip! You're Invited!
Also, if you go that time of year(april/may) you still have a great chance of getting into steelhead, you could even take a morning and hit them in the tribs. I would also consider Smith Mt. . The brother in-law lives near the Potomac so I would just take the family and drop them off there, kill two birds with one stone.

2013 Roadtrip! You're Invited!
I would definitely come to erie, its cheap to stay up there too, if you stay at the inn @ presque isle its under $40 for a room with two double beds and has three bars in walking distance. Another great backup option would be Pymatuning Reservour which is about an hour South or as suggest Chautauqua(headed there not this weekend but the following )
