  1. Putting a 50e on a MH rod is like dropping a 4 banger in an f250. The 50 is a finesse reel, Id look for a M at the heaviest.
  2. I like the bait monkey, I embrace him. Correct though, based on time of year more often than not I can narrow it down to a few choices. Thinking about making a travel bag that can only carry a few things, which is why I said about 2-3 3600 size boxes. Regardless, I wont be able to bring all my rods and while thats not a problem fun fishing, tournament day in our club it is a problem for me. Our club has a tendency to share boats even though everyone in the club has their own boat.
  3. Ive given up every hobby except hunting and fishing. Usually hunting when the fishing is poor sometimes they mix though. I can distinctly remember a morning where I was out hunting turkeys with no luck, went home and changed over to fishing and had a banner day.
  4. Part of my issue too is that I am a more methodical type of fisherman. I want to stay and pick the entire point or bush apart where as many of my friends are full out runners. The trolling motor on some of their boats only stops to put the big motor in the water.
  5. I have friends who have boats which are MUCH nicer. SI, DI big fat motors that will run 80mph but I really only want to fish my own boat. Its not cause I dont like fishing with them, I do. I like to be in control of the boat but besides that point which I can deal with I have so much gear that I feel naked without all of it. I bought all of it for a reason, I dont even want to think about pulling all of that out of my boat for one day even if I could. Im talking 50+ bags of soft plastics, 6-8 rods, line spooling station, 10 3700 series boxes. It used to not be an issue when I didnt have this much stuff. Maybe I need to buy a very small travel bag and just accept to living with 2-3 3600 boxes on a given day?
  6. That would be nice. To pull something like that off I would need almost a year notice to put it all together from planning time off work and the costs involved. Bellefonte, PA -> Pickwick 868 mi, 13 hours 28 mins In current traffic: 13 hours 28 mins I-71 S I made a very similar drive when me and some friends went to Deals Gap aka Tail of the Dragon.
  7. Lake I am fishing this week is still reading 40 on the gage, its 88 degrees there today so I feel your pain. See what happens and hope for the best. I called it, I said we wont have a spring. It will go from 30 to 80 and there wont be any of those days where a tshirt and jeans is perfect temp. Temps are supposed to level back out next week but when you call for a high of 70 and it hits 88, I dont know what to believe.
  8. Sounds like fun. Steelie fishing is the same way, best when high and muddy because most people have no clue where to find fish. If they cant see em, they cant snag em and then you can actually catch fish that havent seen everything in the book.
  9. Its all well and good till someone blows by you on tournament day like youre sitting still. I would have a bigger boat but having a young child is wicked expensive between daycare and insurance.
  10. I assume this is a tributary? I never heard of a run on the PA side of walleyes. Smolts should be in pa streams now and maybe some jack steelhead.
  11. Anyone ever try this yourself, maybe not full blown dive gear but a snorkel? Be neat to look at a submerged tree.
  12. I dont have cable, I have tv over internet, im out of the loop on whats actually aired anymore
  13. Stumbled on this one while doing SI research Theres a bunch more videos, this is number 1, number 2 is something about a drop shot, number 3 is SI with a camera under water...
  14. Shock gobbles... listen when the thunder starts this week, theyll be out there firing off some more.
  15. If youre gonna wear waders definitely wear a pfd.
  16. Odd title, the season just started
  17. Cake to fish from shore, theres not much water in it right now. It may even be drained. I know they need to fix the dam and there was talk about it but I think the funding got cut so I am not certain where it stands. It has bass, perch, crappies and pickerel
  18. The smallest ones the eyes fall out easy. Havent fished my biggest ones yet.
  19. Facebook is a VERY VERY powerful tool if you know how to harness it. In fact, facebook changed internet marketing forever. Surely you didnt think that all the websites you visit the ads just happen to by chance tailor to things you enjoy did you? Here is how it works. You go on facebook and you "like" things. Companys buy into the statistics of the likes based on your account facebook implants a cookie in your browser to differentiate you from john. You go to a new website, you might be on a baking website, but that company with its tie to facebook knows that you are a fisherman, you get a fisherman ad. Facebook also gives you things like demographics so you can tailor your advertising. If all of your likes are lets say 4 year olds, you know you need to have cartoons in your advertisement.
  20. I took the embeded video down due to language
  21. Can you find me a left handed pixy for $175? If so send me a pm. I can find righties but not lefites at that price.
  22. you could make an ebay fortune right now
  23. Its not like youre going to win AOY with an umbrella rig. Look at Ehrler, sitting in first this year after two events... okeechobee...2nd, smith... 1st. He didnt fish the rig at all I believe. Look at Paces win in the classic, while yeah no a-rigs day 1 in 37 degree water he had 11+ lbs on a jig. Next week on the elite series it could go either way, its april and that water still might not be spawn ready. A-rigs could be the hero but theres a good chance fish could be headed to beds or already on them.
  24. Im throwing a micro at the moment, its not much bigger than a spinnerbait. So, I personally dont care but I think a lot of businesses will care, entire rod and reel setups just for throwing it.
  25. It wouldve been cheaper to make a $50 order at TW and pay overnight shipping. 3 hours of driving for hooks?
