  1. Biggest thing about it is making sure you dont buy a lemon if you go used, knowing to ask questions about maintance and where to check for the lies associated with it. Someone will tell you to drive an hour to see a boat and before you ever leave you ask "hows the transom" they will reply that its great. You get there, reach back under the back deck and feel it disengrate in your hand. They didnt even know or just played dumb. Theres lots of little things on boats that nickle and dime you. Things like a ripped cover or bearings or impellers but the only way to know is to dive on in and accept that you will have to learn as you go. Most people do learn as they go.
  2. I dont think you even know yourself what you want
  3. I love when I see this, reminds me of like a boat ad. "This boat is the best bass boat on the lake! Reason for selling, upgrading!"
  4. Problem was at mine they had no V1, all they had were V2
  5. You bought the wrong reel bud, you better go back for that one!
  6. You sure that surface activity is not feeding shad rather than predators busting bait? I was fooled last week into thinking that was happening when balls of shad were feeding on an insect emergence. They werent even the right shad anyhow, they were gizzards and not threadfins.
  7. The other bad thing about making him gobble with the hens going to the gobbler is that there are sooooo many hens cause not too many people hunt them in fall that the hens will fly down and RUN to him.
  8. I started fishing the rivers for smallmouths at such a young age I dont remember the first. I was so little in fact my grandparents would take me and when I was off doing something and not paying attention they would catch a fish, hook it on my line and then let it go. One of my fondest memories from those early years was sitting in a 10ft jon boat in the Juniata river with my grandfather in a pouring down rainstorm just catching massive smallies one after the next. They bought the boat due to my passion in fishing. He asked me if I wanted to go home and I told him that wasnt an option. I would give my bass boat away for free to have one more day like that with that man, forever missed.
  9. Is it more common or is it that news spreads faster?
  10. Thats EXACTLY what they did at mine. I had the ad from online and the sale flier in my hand, the color one from their register.
  11. Just fished raystown last friday, its not on yet, everytime it starts a cold front blows in.
  12. Yeah, its unreal. You dont have to worry about even getting a drag free drift because they are so active on the water. If you never fly fish another day in your life you should try it during the emergence of this because you will absolutely have fun.
  13. All my place had was gen 2 and they werent having it
  14. Its going to be INCREDIBLE! I was guiding when they were out last here and you could take a rookie fly fisherman and have an absolute banner of a day.
  15. There are a lot of entry level arrows that are out there. A $60 a dozen arrow is not going to shoot any better than a $200 a dozen arrow in a rookies hands.
  16. Whatever you decide to buy it needs to be a .340 spine or higher. In arrows, up means down in numbers. Ex... 300 has less flextion than a 400 spine shaft. Easton calls for a .340 spine If you want weight as in lots of KE and Momentum a Full Metal Jacket aka FMJ would be a good one. Speed you are looking at the Flatline. Now that you know you need a .340 spine you can look at other manufactures. Some of them will call it 350 as they go nearest fifty. You could shoot a .300 also but .340/350 should keep you from having tuning issues. GPI or Grains Per Inch tells you how heavy the arrow is. It works just like a bullet in this regard. An arrow thats 7.5 GPI is going to go faster but is not going to have the same KE or Momentum as a heavier arrow.
  17. Need your draw length and weight
  18. I have one and hes a handfull, I couldnt imagine more than one which is why I wont have more than one if I have anything to do about it. Kids are more like two full time jobs than a single full time job could ever be.
  19. remember also, while its awesome to hear them gobble in nature the hens go to the gobbler so if you keep calln and he keeps firing off youre just hanging him up. if he responds one single time he knows where you are.
  20. I would take that out in presque isle near the second week in may, the spawn is behind this year with this weather.
  21. 18 mile is like a trickle on the pa side, you talkn NY or PA side?
  22. You must have one awesome career
  23. Ive recently obtained a pro staff position on a soft plastics company, I need to make room in my boxes. Craws, worms... lots of stuff. Tell me what you need and Ill tell you if I have it.
