  1. Dude, Raped? Really? Grow up. I have heard this term used frequently. It is not used in the context you are thinking of. By definition it can also mean to plunder or pillage.... It's in bad taste, no matter the context. Not trying to argue with you flechero because I'm usually a fan of yours, but it's considered socially acceptable to say "I murded the bass" so how is raped any different. Both are heinous crimes, and "raped" can have multiple less-offensive meanings, such as pillaged, whereas "murded" has one clear meaning. Most likely when people first started saying "I murded this" or "I murded that," it was considered offensive, but then it gradually became accepted as appropriate slang. I think "raped" might be the same way, and gradually it will either die out or be accepted as an acceptable slang word. I'm nor saying this is right and I'm not advocating saying "raped" but I don't see how there's any difference between saying "I murded the bass" and "I raped the bass"
  2. That pretty much nails it. I know if I lose my Pointer in Aurora Black, its backup copy will work EXACTLY the same. I cannot say the same for some other well known baits. X2 exactly
  3. Anybody watch it. It was on after burn notice. I thought it was pretty entertaining.
  4. I second this motion...
  5. Yeah no kidding lol, I'd almost rather get skunked than show up to a weigh in with 5 10" bass lol, especially if everyone else had a lot of weight ;D
  6. That's how the Susky has been lately, high, muddy water. If I were you I would take Tin's advice and create a milk run, fishing spots quickly and moving on. and like fishfordollars said, find the clearest water you can. If the river has any creeks flowing into it, I would also try running up those, you can usually find clearer water on the creeks than on the main river, at least that's how it is on the susky. I would be throwing spinnerbaits mostly, chartreuse/white, or a translucent color depending on the water clarity. Throw tubes in the slack water. I don't know how that river is but if it has a lot of islands, find some with grass at the back and fish that. The grass keeps the water clearer and there's usually some slack water there as well. Best of luck!
  7. Hey Tin, do you fish the weekend series a lot? I was thinking about fishing a couple weekend series tournies and some BFLs next year.
  8. Took him to DNR, pansy. You should have went happy gilmore and wrestled it to death. ;D
  9. There's a local company called Hawghead that a guy named Rick Anderson (some of you might know him) runs, they make some pretty decent stuff. He just won $5000 in a tournament using one of his senko knock-offs so his stuff definitely works.
  10. Oh, and as far as the question... I say "I whacked 'em" or "I crushed 'em" or "I loaded the boat" If I have a good bag at a tourny weigh in and somebody asks, I usually say "I have a few" followed by a subtle wink
  11. Dude, Raped? Really? Grow up. I have heard this term used frequently. It is not used in the context you are thinking of. By definition it can also mean to plunder or pillage. It may not be the best choice depending on who you are speaking to, but amongst friends I do not see a problem with it. yeah i agree with walz. i think its also a regional thing. Like here in jersey we use it for a lot of things. Like "Them senkos are raping this lake" or "we just got done Hawg rapin" I understand your point, but it still is in very bad taste. Just understand that your words might be heard by someone who can easily misinterpret the meaning (or worse, someone who has had it happen to them or a loved one). Basically, you just dont know who is going to hear it. If the attitude is, "I dont really care who hears it," then prepare yourself for whatever you get back.... It's a youth thing. I try not to say it too often but I find myself saying it occasionally, never around anybody other than my friends though. Out of context it does sound inappropriate though so I understand why you found it offensive which is why I don't say it very often.
  12. I use a loomis IMX904 paired with a curado 201e7 loaded with 50lb powerpro and so far this setup has worked great. Like others said, you'll be fine with any quality rod over 7ft with a good high speed reel.
  13. Rock: 1. Pink Floyd The Beatles Lynard Skynard Led Zeppelin Guns N Roses Metal: 1. The Black Dahlia Murder 2. All Shall Perish/As Blood Runs Black (tie) 3. Lamb of God 4. As I lay Dying 5. Nile
  14. From the pics it just looks a little beat up. Did you see any actual teeth marks? I don't live down there so I don't have much experience with alligators but I would think if an alligator got hold of it there wouldn't be nearly that much left. The spawn is done down there right? If the spawn is just finished it might just be beat up from spawning.
  15. noaa.gov is by far the best available IMO. It's very rarely wrong, and when you're talking about weather, that says something.
  16. x2. When I look for something on Bass Pro Shops I don't even look at the reviews. x3 BPS reviews are crap
  17. Best of luck
  18. No not at all, you would be fine with 65lb Power Pro. And, as somebody else said, do not buy Fireline, Fireline Crystal, Fireline Braid, all of it sucks IMO.
  19. Yeah no kidding about them being hard to miss, you can see 'em about 300 yards across the lake lol! As far as what makes them so attractive... For the price, they are absolutely amazing rods and they are definitely the best rods in their price range IMO. They are ridiculously light, have very comfortable grips, and, while they aren't as sensitive as my IMXs, they are still pretty darn sensitive. I wouldn't go as far as to say that they run with rods in the $300-400 range, but they are very competitive within the $150-200 price range. I don't know anybody who has one that doesn't like it.
  20. Gotta have that free sniping ;D Yep, its a dealbreaker if I don't get free sniping lol ;D
  21. You guys should jump on this deal if your looking for a quality rod on the cheap. A friend who owns a tackle business was selling them for $100 so I picked up two of 'em and I couldn't be happier.
