  1. I would imagine that any fans they may have had last month have probably deserted them after signing Jeff Francoeur and Melky Cabrera. ;D ;D ;D Francoeur has potential, I suppose, but Cabrera is a waste of bench space.
  2. I remember hearing it, but I always thought it was a derogatory term...
  3. Nah, there are at least two more... Neither of them are any good, but they do exist. ;D
  4. Killer deal on the Hohner Special 20 right here... http://www.harmonica.com/store/harmonica-hohner-special-20.php
  5. I wear the Asics Gel Frantic for running and usually get close to 6 months out of a pair before the heel breaks down. That may not sound very good, but that's a long time if you're actually running in them. Once the heel breaks down, I use them for another 6 months as "bumming around" shoes, and then they become grass cutting shoes. They run ~$85 or so, but you can find them a bit cheaper online. Last year's model usually runs ~$60 at Shoe Carnival.
  6. Being a one-shot deal and not a production run, your choices are pretty much limited to the first three, with GTAW (Tig) being your best bet, imho. GMAW (Mig) would require a dedicated machine and a spool of titanium wire, which you'd only find in a manufacturing environment where they're welding a lot of titanium but not enough to justify an auto or semi-auto machine. PAW would be an option as most plasma setups I've seen (and used) are running on high-purity gas, but you'll probably have a hard time finding someone willing or able to do a single part due to the complexities setting up the welder, arc-voltage controller, and possibly sequence controller. I ran one for several years, and it was a real PITA to get running properly.
  7. It can be done, but not by your general weld/fab shop. http://www.thefabricator.com/article/arcwelding/titanium-you-can-weld-it

    1) High Plains Drifter 2) Goodfellas 3) Pulp Fiction 4) Unforgiven 5) Lord of the Rings (it's just one long movie broken into pieces)

I don't know...I've been eating a lot of black bean burgers lately. I'm almost making myself sick with the stench.
  10. The AVS68MXF is a good everything rod.
  11. This correct. The previous models used standard guides with inserts while the newer ones have the flimsy all-metal guides. They supposedly improved the blanks when they changed the guides, so the new may still be better than the older ones.
  12. Don't forget about the FBI. They like to hire accountants.
  13. Our school offers this particular class to CRJ majors, but it's an accounting class. Actually, they recently made it a requirement to graduate with an ACC degree.
  14. Lol, it looks like you read my schedule and answered for me. ;D
  15. Does your school offer anything in forensic accounting/fraud investigation? I just finished a Principles of Fraud Examination class that seems like it would be more entertaining than just crunching numbers all day... I'm a criminal justice major, so I found it all rather boring, but the accountants in the class found it fascinating.
  16. Suzuki Bluesmaster showed up today and the sound is definitely different than the Special 20. It has a kind of...um...almost like a reverb thing going on. Strange, but really cool.
  17. You might need to work on your resume. Most of the calls I get from recruiters, headhunters, and temp agencies are through Monster or Career Builder. Heck, I haven't bumped my resume on Monster in several months and I'm still getting calls. Got two calls yesterday afternoon, but as a full-time student I'm not looking for a full-time job. I'm only interested in working weekends right now. To the OP: I don't what field you're in, but there are lots of specialized job sites where you can post your resume and if/when you get desperate...most temp agencies accept resumes/applications through their sites. Good luck.
  18. This ^ I'd be comfortable using my 6'8" M/XF spinning rig for everything except cranks. It's not ideal for drop-shot, but it would handle it way better than my 6'9" ML/XF handles wacky-rigged Senkos.
  19. I worked at a bus terminal back when I was in high school, and my mother was the supervisor. I called her by name whenever the other employees were around, and in return she treated me just like the other employees. I wouldn't dream of doing it now. ;D I call all of my aunts and uncles by their names, and always have. As a matter of fact, my grandmother's husband, who she has been married to for well over 20 years, I still call Paul...not Grampa.
  20. Thanks for the advice, guys. I hit the local music chain-store this morning and walked out with a Special 20 © and managed to talk my wife into buying me a Suzuki Bluesmaster (A) for Christmas. I've got my eye on a Lee Oskar Major right now to finish off the set. I just need to pick a key. If you can't decide which one to buy, sometimes the best thing to do is buy both (or all three, in this case). ETA: I opted out of the Lee Oskar Major in favor of a Bushman Delta Frost in the key of C. My local dealer stocks the Lee Oskar so I can get one at any time, should I feel the need. Now I just need to practice...and practice...and practice some more.
  21. It depends on which presentation you plan on using the most. Imho, the typical drop shot rod is less than ideal for wacky-rigged Senkos or shaky heads.
  22. If they'd just get off their butts and offer it in 7.1:1 I'd be all over it.
  23. Amazon had some good bundle deals as well, and they offer free shipping on most of them.
  24. Hard to beat the prices on the 250GB holiday bundles. I picked one up for my boys about a week ago.
  25. I'm not sure what the reeds are made of, but I've read a few different comparisons between the Blues Harp and the Special 20 and the general consensus seems to be that the Special 20 bends easier than the BH. It also has a plastic comb instead of wood like the BH, which will make it a bit more spit-tolerant I suppose. Not having any experience at all, I doubt I could tell the difference between the two if I was blindfolded.
