What Loomis rod would you buy?
I've never fished with the BCR803 but I have the MBR 783 and 844. I think the 844 will cover more applications and scenarios but most of my waters are packed with dense cover. Let us know what you decide. Ditto, I even throw weightless senkos and Ikas with the 844 and really haven't experienced any problems doing so. I like the 844 because I can also use it as a C-rig rod as well as a frog rod if need be.

Hand tools
I should clarify, I am not building a new deck, just replacing some boards and hand rails. I also need a drill for around the house projects.

Hand tools
Thanks Skillet, The reason that it may be in the budget is because I am supposed to get one last commission check, an unexpected surprise. So with that check, albeit small, I am looking to make this purchase. I really need to put some bench seats around my deck to make hospitable.

Thanks, that is exactly what I am, an occasional user.

Hand tools
Wow thanks for all the input. I was just at lowes and saw a Black and Decker kit, it was 18 volt, includes a drill, recpricating saw, circular saw, light, 2 batteries and an accessory kit. Now normally I wouldn't buy many things in a kit since you usually get a bunch of stuff you don't need or won't use, however this one includes several items that would get used, the only question is the light. I know DeWalt is toward the G Loomis end of tools but for what I am needing it for, would the B & D brand be sufficient? I didn't mention that the price for the kit was $149.99, so it falls in my price range.

I am needing to get a new cordless drill, but I am not sure what I should look for as far as volts, etc. I have an old Mikita that no longer holds a charge so that is why I need a new one. It will be used for small projects around the house, installing decking for a new deck and so forth. Can anyone offer some advice on what I should look for. I am trying to keep the price under $150.

Any flight simmers here
That is what I am worried about.

Any flight simmers here
I *** you Bud, I really really want to fly for real. Maybe someday I can achieve that goal.

Any flight simmers here
I too only use the MS sims and like you I really want my pilots license. My neighbor has a commercial license, and I live within a mile or so of a small general aviation airport so that feeds the itch even more. The flight sim is my relief until I can figure out how to pay for my license for real.

Any flight simmers here
Just curious, I dable in flight simming and just wanted to see if there were any other "pilots" here.

Berkley Gulp and Power bait
I am definitely a big fan of Berkley Power baits. I really like the 7 and 10" worms, the beast, and the creature baits. I use the craws for jig trailers. Berkley is quickly taking over tackle bag with the exception of Ikas, Berkley gets used more than any other soft plastic. I have to agree with most everyone else's assessment of Gulp though, not a big fan of it.

1st day as a stay-at-home dad
Awesome, I'm sure it will be a great new part of your life. How many kids? Two, a 4yr old boy and a 9 month old daughter, and yes some fishing trips will be in order this spring.

1st day as a stay-at-home dad
Sorry, I live in KS, Spokane would be a mighty big commute everyday.

1st day as a stay-at-home dad
I am actually kinda excited about it. It has always bothered me that my kids would spend 8-9 hours a day with someone else and then I only get to see them for a couple of hours at night. I also hated the fact that we always heard about the "firsts" from our daycare provider, the first crawl, the first steps, the first words, etc, now I can see and hear them for myself.

1st day as a stay-at-home dad
Wish me luck, today is my first day as a stay at home dad. I left my previous job due to extreme pay cuts, and would only have been making enough to pay for daycare, and I didn't like the idea of working just so I could pay someone else to watch my kids. I am looking for a P/T job at nights so I can get out of the house and make a little money, but I am officially a stay at home dad.

For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
I caught two decent ones, had a lot of bits but didn't get them hooked up. The two that I caught were on a white/chart rattle trap.

For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
it is south of K10 between Lenexa and Lawrence. You take the Kill Creek Pkwy exit off of k10, go south until you can't go any farther. Then take a right until you can't go any farther (without being in someones driveway), take a left and the park entrance is on the right.

For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
I just got back from Kill Creek and there are some males on the bed, but haven't seen any big females yet. Water temp is in the upper 50's low 60s so it should be soon for the girls to move up.

Cabelas E Glass rod?????????????
This biggest down side to the Cabelas cranking rod is that it is 2 pieces unless you get the shortest one. I would definitely look at the BPS crankin stick for $29, it is well worth it even at full price in my opinion.

Am I expecting too much
If this one goes south, I am giving up and I am going to go back to a Zebco 33

Am I expecting too much
When I took the MG back to BPS, I had a couple of employees check it out themselves, thinking I was just imagining the sounds and feels of the reel, but they also said it didn't sound or feel right. I got a Curado 100D, took it out today for a little while and so far so good, it seems to be a great reel.

Am I expecting too much
As much as I would like to deal with Shimano directly, I am a very impatient person, and with the weather finally being nice enough to get out and fish, I took it back to BPS. Luckily the Shimano rep was in the store so he got an earfull, and he was just as shocked with the history that I have had as I was. I really needed some additional tackle so I exhanged the MG for a new Curado and used the difference for much needed stuff. I know the MG and Curado are not the same, but I have had such good luck with my other Curados, I decided to take a chance. I have one rule when it come to buying reels, if I need to break it down, reoil, relube and reassemble, then it is going back for another one, if I wanted to do that, I would buy a used one and go from there, maybe it is stubbornness or laziness, but that is how I feel about buying new reels.

Am I expecting too much
I guess that is my concern, I can hear the reel when retrieving line, it feels smooth, though not that much smoother than my older curados. It just seems that the reels always seem smoother and quieter in the store, then when I get them home I compare it to what I felt and heard in the store and it not the same.
